I had a caesarean section due to placenta previa, i was full term and nearly lost my beautiful baby boy. should this have been detected earlier in the pregnancy.

i'm 18 weeks and had 2 ultra-sounds with low placenta to confirm a previa i will have a u/s at around 28-32 weeks the doctor has put me on restrictions so yes i do belive you should had have an ideal of your placenta with your previous u/s

yes, it definitely should have been dectected earlier in pregnancy. i had an ultrasound at 15.5 weeks that showed placenta previa. i also had spotting and that's why i got the ultrasound done. but usually pregnant women get ultrasounds done at 18 to 20 weeks on the doctor would be able to tell you at that time. if you get pregnant again, choose a different doctor.
