Pregnancy After Tubal Ligation

cheschickie : I just wanted to say from what I have researched, it is VERY rare for a woman to get pregnant while on her period. Not to say it hasn't happened but it is highly unlikely. The miracle of pregnancy allows a small window of opportunity to concieve which is right around ovulation time. The sperm has to be able to meet the egg in the fallopian tube in order to fertilize it for a successful pregnancy and the only time that happens generally is in the days of ovulation which lasts about 4 to 5 days in the month. We tend to ovulate about 12 days after our period. I hope this helps but let us all know if you are the exception to the rule. Good luck to you! Lisa

After crying and crying, i've decided to (try) to stop thinking of pregnancy. After haveing my tubes tied going on 12 yrs, I guess if it happens it will. Still sad tho. Went to the dr. about 2 yrs ago. Had all the symptoms except missed period. Made dr do a pap test cause the test was neg. She got mad. So after the test she said nothings there. I had an enlarged stomach. My neice who was preg at the time said i looked more preg then her! The dr laughed at me and said it happens to all women after 30. I was 35. Like i said she was mad at me cause she didn't feel like i was worth the time since the test was neg. Guess she was right. I hope you ladies the best of luck. God bless u all.

Pamela, I'm in the same boat as you. I would love to have another baby, but hubby say's no. I do try to make myself try and get over having another, but I can't. If something so strong is still there, there's nothing that can make it go away. I had my tube's done in 2000 when my son was 10 months old, he's now 7. I've been wanting to have nother since he was 2. But hubby say's HE can't go through nappy change's or bottle's or night feed's, but like he did any of it anyway. He never got up to the kids till they where nearly 1, and that was only to put the dummy in. Big Hugs for you and anyone else thats needs one..

Thanks rttj. It's just so depressing you know? You hear of women saying " i'm sitting hear pregnant or holding my new baby vouching that tubals don't work", or your friends are preg and you secretly wish you were. My husband is very understanding. He helped with all 3 of ours. He also wants another. I hope all of us can have our day. God's willing. Everything is possible in the eyes of God.

Pamela you are so right. Anything and everything is possible with the Lord in your life. I am a firm believer and a witness as to his love and grace. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, but I am still having symptoms that just won't go away. I think I took the test to early, considering it was just last week. But who knows. If I am, I'm scared as to how to tell my children. What will they think of me? It will all work out. I used to love being pregnant. Nothing will change this time regarding that either. I wish you the best of luck. Doctors and scientist can only do so much. God does the rest.

I saw this on another site forum and it gave me inspiration. i hope nobody gets offended by me writing this, I hope it helps all ya'll like it did me. It was written by someone called Lovinggod. Dear Lord, Blessed is the woman who conceives Lord! For it is a gift from you.......it is life and a life that will touch us and change us for an eternity. Lord touch the women on here who would love to receive a child. So many of us regret our choice to hinder our body from conceiving and Lord I pray that you would come in with your healing power and touch us and create new life in us. Who can stop your hand of blessing....no one Lord! I thank you that these women will have the desire of their hearts and you will do miraculous wonders and your name will be glorified because of it. And comfort those who were not prepared to conceive Lord, show them the mysteries you have at hand and the reson why they have been chosen for such a miracle as this. Give them the finances to sustain another child and bring counsel to their souls. Lord bring peace to all and I pray that all who are meant to receive a child have a healthy and prosperous pregnancy. In Jesus name Amen

Pamela. I think I do need a miracle. I will say I don't really belive in god, but if he is really out there, then maybe he can give me that miracle that I really want so badly. But then again I must belive in him , cos some night when I go to bed I do say to him, please god let me get pregnant.. They say we have an angle for every person on earth, well on wednesday night when I went to bed, I asked my angel to help my sister. She have finally gotten pregnant after 4 years of trying, she M/C 4 years ago and has'nt been able to get pregnant. So I ask my angel to help her, make sure that every thing is going to be ok, make this baby stay where it is. She would be heart broken if anything was to happen. I also asked my angel to help me get pregnant, so I'm praying and wishing I do some day. But I also thanked my angel for helping her, because she went to the doc and everything is fine. The doc said she does'nt think anything will happen...

Don't worry cheschickie you might be surprised, your kids may be happier then you are, lol. Your right tho, God works in mysterious ways. And rttj2000, CONGRADS to you sister. Just hang in there and if it's ment to be you will have your bundle too. I looked it up on the internet, and to have just my clamps revered will cost me over 5,000 $! I can't afford that. So all I have is prayers and patient. The patience part I have little of, lol. God Bless you all and Good Luck.

Hello everyone, I'm a 39 year old mother of 5 ranging from 9-22yrs old. I got my tubes tied 6 weeks after my 5th child was born. I was married at the time and knew I wanted no more children with him. well we are divorced now and I have been dating the most fantastic man in the world. We both want a child together. I have wanted another child for a while. I have a deep burning desire to carry another child and experience childbirth with someone I am truly in love with. I have been so encouraged by all of your stories and have some hope that I will be able to conceive, carry it to full term and deliver a beautiful bundle of joy. Reversal is not an option for me due to to up front expense and my age most of all. most I have not found a place that will perform the procedure for people at age 40. I'm 39 and will be 40 in June.

Hi everyone, I am new here, and I am here because I am having many of the symptoms you are all having. I have read the posts several times because I think I am still in denial. I am 10 days late and wondering if this is at all possible. I am always on time and right now I have had cramps and tender b___sts. I have two children, both boys ages 10 and 5. I had my tubes clamped last January (2006) and I was under the impression that I would never have another baby with out a reversal. My boyfriend is very sweet and understanding and was willing to wait for me to finish law school before we had the procedure done and had a baby together. Well the poor guy is so worried about me and how this will effect my schooling, but if I am pregnant, he says he will support me the whole way. He is in school too and will be done next April. I am a little scared here and I don't know what to do. I took an hpt when i was 6 and 7 days late and they came up negative. Could this have been too early to test? I took the early response test which I a__sumed to be the best one out there. I haven't tested again yet, but I think I will go to the walk in clinic on Wednesday which will make it 12 days late. I am a little worried, but if I am pregnant then we will embrace it and hope for a healthy baby. (Hopefully a girl :) but a healthy baby is the most important thing). Any advise would be great here. These symptoms are not like the ones I had with my other two children, so I am a little confused. Thanks for listening and I appreciate any advise from you all.

Mother of 2. It is a good idea to go to the doc. If you had tested it should have shown up. But some women dont get a pos till they r a few weeks along. It might be something else. A friend of mine was going months not getting her period, and was pregnant. But it is best u do see a doc. best of luck..

i am a 30 year old mother of 3. i had my tubes tied in 1998 after the birth of my youngest daughter. i was in a bad marriage and i thought having my tubes tied was the right thing to do. :( well not 2 weeks after her birth we filed for a divorce. well in 2004 i met the man i know that i will spend the rest of my life with. infact we got married last june. my periods have never been late, and last august i went 2 1/2 months with out one. thats when i started regretting getting my tubel. because the erge was now very strong with the fact i want another baby! i took 2 home test and they both were neg. and in the middle of oct my periord came! well it was on time in nov, but agian in dec it was late. and when in the middle of jan i still had not had one i went to the doctor for a blood test. :( it was neg. he told me i was to young for menopause, and maybe birthcontrol would regulate me! i refused, sorry but hello i want to be pregnant why would i want to take those. well i got my visitor on feb 1. it lasted 5 days and was very light. now here it is april 3rd and i haven't had a visit since feb! so now here i am nowing i really need to go to the doctor, but i fear that he will tell me YOUR NOT, YOU CAN'T BE, AND IF YOU WAS IT WOULD BE IN YOUR TUBES AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TERMANTED! someone please help. am i going crazy. and i know that its not because i am wanting to be so bad that i am causing a false feeling. because yes i do want to be but its not something i think about all the time. infact my husband is the main one who watches my periord, he can tell you exactly how late i am. he is better then i am when it comes to the day of my last periord! LOL go figure! can someone out there relate? if so please let me know! thank you so very much! & GOD BLESS! :)

I posted back in feb when i had a miscarrige after having my tubes cut and burned in march 06. You are so right about the drs!! All mine wanted to do was give me the shot to "take care of it". As far as menopause goes... I have heard of people going into menopause early due to having tubal surgery. Somehow it can affect the blood supply to the ovaries and cause fluctuations in the hormones. Your dr should check your hormone levels to determine if it is premenopause. There are a number of other things that could cause your af to be off..... cysts, endo., cervical cancer, pcos. If i were you, i would tell him to check my hormone levels and do an ultrasound. Good luck.

To: rttj2000. Thank you so much for your kind words. I was going to the doctor today and this morning I woke up and had my monthy. Well this is good news because we want a baby, but this is not the best time. My boyfriend is insisting that I still make an appointment with my ob/gyn to make sure the clips are still where they are supposed to be. Thank you again :) and good luck to everyone on here!!! Hopefully you get the answers you want!
