Thanks again Shelby! It is weird how hearing from you, and reading the stories above mine, can make me feel so much more relaxed. (Or at least comforted) I will keep you posted on how Friday goes. My doctor is going to do an ultra sound, At least if I am not brave enough to share my news with family, I have people like you that I can talk to here! Thanks again.

I am 11.5 weeks, and have an appt today to hear the HB. She also said that they would prolly take me off the progesterone today. I am nervous, but glad. I am ready to stop taking it. I will let you all know how the appt goes.

Nicole, Was your progesterone levels low the entire time, or did they drop in early pregnancy? How often during this first trimester has your doctor had you come in for ultra sounds and blood work? I enjoy falling your story, as I think that it is similar to mine. Thanks for keeping us posted! Best wishes to you, as it sounds to be going well! YEAH!

One last thing. Does anyone have any rec. on working out during thise time. I teach aerobics (light weight lifting only now that I am pregnant...no jumping!) one day a week, and work out on a regular basis. I have cut way back even since we have even been trying, but am feeling nervous about taking spinning cla__ses, machines, or even light walking. Even more so now that I am stressing over this low progesterone mess. What do you think?

E, I had an early blood draw around 3-4 weeks with HCG and pregesterone. HCG was 64, the progesterone was at 14.97. One week later I requested another blood draw for peace of mind. HCG was 1718, prog had dropped to 9.4. They then started me on 200 mg twice daily suppositories. One week later another blood draw showed HCG of 20644, prog went up to 19. No more blood draws were scheduled, and a New OB appt was set up for when I was around 7.5 weeks. They did an Uls that day which showed a 7.5 week embryo, and a HB of 160. I had my progesterone checked again that day along with my other OB bloodwork. Progesterone was still at 19. Docs office said that it was fine, as it was above 15. So, I haven't been back since. They are not doing an Uls today, unless of course they can't find a HB (praying this isn't the case). They also told me I should be able to stop the progesterone, which makes both me and hubby happy :) Most of all, I just want to hear that little HB. Will be glad when we hear it, and I think being almost 12 weeks, will give me rea__surance, since we will be over the major hump. The next Uls won't be until 20 weeks. Just HB checks until then. How far along are you E?? I credit the current success of my pregnancy to the progesterone and prayers. Prayers your way!

I havent been in touch in about a month. My prog was low in the beginning and I bled the whole first 6 weeks. Prog level was a 6, was supposed to be a 12. I took supplements from then on and saw a hb at 6wks. We were so excited we couldn't keep it to ourselves any longer. We thought our chances of a m/c had dropped so we were going to be positive. I noticed that I was feeling fine, not tired and everything else was normal. I had a bad feeling when I went in on the 20th. The doctor could not find the heartbeat this time, the embryo had not grown. She let me decide if I wanted to have a DNC or not. I chose not to and I had a m/c a week later. My baby hadn't grown since the last dr. visit. The m/c was painful but I didn't want surgery. I'm through with it now and the dr. says come back in 3 months.

Well, I had a miscarriage and D&C yesterday. On pills right now to make my uterus contract, but, i am not bleeding just spotting. I was only 5 weeks, they could see the fetus on the us but no heartbeat. I don't know how long to wait before trying again. The doc said 3 months, but like i said no blood!

Wendy1, So sorry to hear about your loss. Is your doctor absolutely certain?? It still may be too soon to detect a heartbeat. What were your HCG levels? I don't want to try and create any false hope, I just want to make sure your doctor didn't base this diagnosis solely on the absence of a heartbeat.

Well, our appt yesterday went well. We heard the little HB beating in the 170's. It was so nice to hear that sound. We go back in a month, so herein lies the wait. I am rea__sured though. She said to stop taking the progesterone, so this is the first morning not to take it. I am very nervous about this, however, have faith that it will all work out. Jen, and Wendy1, so sorry for your loss. Words can not say... Just give yourself time to heal, and trust that when the time is right, you will know when it is ready to try again. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My Hcg level was 1601 then two days later it was only 2034.

Just a post to let you know where I am at. I had a doctor's apt. this morning. I had an ultrasound and saw no baby yet. The yolk sac was there, but not yet a baby. I also know that I am only 5 weeks 3 days. Based on when I know I ovulated last, as well as what the measurements of the ultrasound showed. I was pleased to see that both matched. I am scheduled to go back for another ultrasound next Thursday. My doctor was not to interested in checking the Prog. levels at this point. But, I let him know that I was interested in knowing. I am curious to see if they have went up, stayed where they were, or worse case.....dropped. He sent in for blood work to be done on Monday. After this check, if all goes well, I don't think I will check again until I go off the progesterone. My doctor had some interesting data to share about the studies that have been done using the hormone. Who knows if this is the ticket, but it sure relieves some stress. Even if it is a mind set, it certainly makes me feel better to know I am doing all I can at this point. Good luck. Keep me in your thoughts, as I will do the same for all of you.

E, that's really good news!! I was 6 weeks and 3 days before I got my first us and although it didn't look anything like a baby (more like a tadpole), we were, at least, able to see the little bitty baby heartbeat and make out the spine. You'll get to witness this at your next us. I went to my second OB appt. yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat for the first time with a doppler (160BPM). I was really hoping for another us so I could actually see the baby, but it was kind of hard to be disappointed after getting to hear her heartbeat. I am officially in my second trimester now and everything looked and sounded great. I had lab work done (5 viles worth). This is the one where they test for HIV, syphillus, herpes, etc...included in this lab work are my progesterone levels. I haven't heard anything back on my levels as of yet, but I suppose no news is good news. I go next week to have some test done that is supposed to be able to detect Down's Syndrome (because of my age). This is done by using a high definition us so I guess I'll have to wait until then to see her. I'll have to admit that I'm a little more nervous right now about the possible chromosonal abnormalities than I am about my progesterone levels (I guess I'll have to find a new forum). I'll just be so glad when all of this is behind me and I can actually sit back and enjoy this pregnancy without having to worry all the time about something going wrong. Good luck to you!

Jen - October 10

Nicole, thanks, and I think that you should be positive because everyones body is different and you never know what is causing anything. Mr dr. said it was like the chicken and the egg, she didn't know what came first, the low prog or the mc causing the low prog. Supplements probably do work for some cases. Keep the faith

Just thought I would keep all those tuned in to the wonderful world of "progesterone stress," updated. After a week on prometrium my levels have risen from 15.5 to 31.9. What good news! I will have an ultra sound on Thrusday, and hopefully see good things. I am only 6 weeks along as of today. Best wishes to all. I will keep you all posted, as I hope that you do the same.
