I am supposedly only 2 weeks pregnant, but believe I am further along (at least 6 weeks). I started spotting last weekend so I called the doctor. They had me come in to do an ultrasound & blood test. My progesterone level is at 7.4 and they said they like it to be at least 20 or above. I was also prescribed Prometrium and am taking another blood test on Friday. Hopefully it goes up because they said it could even double within 2-3 days. If it doesn't go up, does it mean that I will miscarry?

Amy, it seems that every doctor is different. My progesterone level was 14.5, and they prescribed prometrium 100mg. 2x day for me. BUT I told them I wanted to take a supplement...i had 2 miscarriages perviously. If you are concerned, ask for it. I am certainly not a doc but I haven't heard of any negative happenings from someone taking a supplement. My doctors acted like they were just "humoring" me, by giving me the supplement, and maybe they were, but theres alot to be said for the power of the mind. If you think you will wonder and wonder, then please talk with your doc. Good luck!!

I was 6 weeks pregnant when my doctor took a blood test and told me that my progesterone level was at 10.9, but he said that it should be at 11 so I thought it wasn't that bad I was on 100mg twice a day, v____al. I was on them for 3 weeks all together, then one day i just didnt feel right and i misscarried.

Can anyone help me? I posted on here back in June and July b/c I miscarried in July due to low progesterone. Well, now I'm not sure what is going on with me. My last period was December 24th and my husband so now I am 2 days late. My husband and I had s_x during ovulation time so I thought I might be pregnant but I've taken 2 HPT's and they both said negative! Has anyone had negative tests before and still been pregnant? I've had a few symptoms such as frequent urination and a little bout of yesterday and today. I called my doctor and they said to wait a week for my AF and then make an appt. for bloodwork if it sill has not come. I can't take this whole waiting thing. What do you think I should do? And has anyone ever tested neg. when they were really preggo?

Wow I really jacked up that last statement. Let me fix my errors!
Well, now I'm not sure what is going on with me. My last period was December 24th now I am 2 days late.
and....
I've had a few symptoms such as frequent urination and a little bout of nausea yesterday and today.
Now it should all make sense (except for the fact that I'm late and have neg. HPT.)

Amber, have you tried the early predictor test? They worked for me when I was a few days late. It doesn't seem like theres much else to do but wait now. Good luck!

Kristina-I don't think mine was early predictor, I believe that is actually what I took last time when I was pg. though. I was just reading up on HPT's and found out that you can get a false negative if you use it when you have drank a lot of water. And that is all I have been drinking for 3 weeks now, so my urine is always very diluted (which I never thought of). So maybe I will wait and take my other test in the morning if AF still hasn't come. And if it still neg., then I will wait a few more days and buy an early predictor test. Ya know, these HPT's can be EXPENSIVE!!! If by Friday it still has not come then I am going to the dr. to get my blood drawn. This waiting kills me (which is probably delaying my AF even more!)

So, I took another pregnancy test this morning like they suggest and it was still a negative. So I definitely don't think I'm pregnant, I just wish I knew why I haven't started. I'm 3 days late now, and last night I had horrible back pain and pain on my lower left side. It did not feel like period pain or pregnancy, it felt exactly how I feel when I ovulate. What is going on with my body. If I haven't started by Friday, then I am going to go to the doctor because I have that day off of work. Friday will be 6 days late and I think would be good enough reason for the Dr. to look into why I have not started. Well, I'll let ya'll know more later....

It's me again! Does anyone know how your cervix is related during your cycle and early pregnancy? I've gotten different answers and I'm not sure what is right. I checked mine and it is very mushy and tight.

Well, I started my period so I definitely was not pregnant! I'm not sure why I was 4 days late, maybe I had a little extra stress and didn't realize it. Oh well, I'm just glad that I don't have to keep seeing those negative HPT results with an absent period. That is more stressful than anything. I'll start trying again this month!! Baby dust to all.....

Hi everyone I'm sorry everyone is going through this but I can say that as long as you are doing as your told by your Dr. everything should be fine. With me first pregnancy my progesterone was low. I was bleeding lightly like a pink color. I went to the dr. she gave me some kinda progesterone pills and with in days I stopped bleeding. she took me off of them at the end of my first trimester. I carried full term and delivered a healthy baby girl. I;m now in my second pregnancy and my dr. tested me again b/c of the first pregnancy. My progesterone is normal but in the low normal and they put me on depositories just until about 13-14 weeks just to be on the safe side. I wasn't having any bleeding or anything so I really think I'd be ok without them. When your progesterone levels get low te reason why you miss carry if its not caught and treated int ime is because progesteron builds the lineing of the uterous. with out progesterone the lining of your uterous becomes thin and thats why you miss carry because your to thin and the baby doesnt stick. but once your in your second trimester your baby is big enough and is producing like it should so it doesnt; need that extra help. Does that make since? I hope it does. I just wanted ya'll to know that there is hope, it is safe and I'm more than sure you'll be fine. Just do what your Dr's tell you. One that you trust

Hi ladies - just wanted to add, that although many women feel that progesterone has made all the difference for a positive pregnancy outcome, supplementation is not clinically proven to make a difference in a pregnancy that is in trouble. The supplements do cause the lining of the uterus to build up and get nice and thick for baby, which is one benefit; but most miscarriages happen as the result of a chromosome abnormality. Progesterone supplements, in such a case, will only delay the miscarriage. I don't mean to dampen anyone's spirits or personal beliefs about progesterone, just want to make sure some facts get in here too!

I think I'm 5 weeks. Progesterone levels were 23.7 a few days ago. Awaiting results tomorrow for new blood work. Wondering if anyone has had to do injections with previous pregnancies? I had one "missed" miscarriage and then a 2nd successful pregnancy with prog. injections from 4-12 weeks of pregnancy.

My doctor prescribed 200 mg twice a day of progesterone because i had a miscarriage in the fall. She has never monitored my progesterone levels. Does this make any sense?

ccreese...Im in the same boat, I had a miscarrage 6 months ago and am now 4 weeks pregnant. I was put on progestrone today with out any testing of my levels. She said it will be an extra precaution to help support the embryo. I guess if you were put on it too without any tests its normal...I was wondering the same thing.
