Hi, I am a newcommer and have an intrauterine hematoma. I am not sure if it is subchorionic. I am only 8 weeks pregnant and it is much larger than the sack the baby is in.

Hi to all of you new gals and regular gals too! Just a quick update... I have been in your place back when I was 8 wks and then again when I was 15 wks. Two major bleeds and a sch starting out at 13 cm but has gone down to 2 cm although it has never completely disappeared. Today I am 34 weeks along with a super healthy boy. I have been having mild contractions for the last couple of days so I can tell my body is warming up. I found out by scan that baby is big- most likely 10 lbs if we go to term so they will let me deliver if I start to go into labor before 40 wks. I am so glad this is almost over. This is our last one of six and we are really going out with a bang. Everybody keep your chins up! I remember being where some of you are and I was so scared. Now looking back- I am thankful for the care I had and for this site!!!

I am 8 1/2 weeks pregnant..I started bleeding a week ago today..mostly light bleeding when I go to the bathroom and wipe. I also found out my hcg levels are lower than normal..still rising but not as they should be. I had an ultrasound last Friday and the baby was measuring as it should be and we had a heartbeat! The last week has been HELL though, so worried because of the bleeding and my low levels..also because the dr didn't seem very optomistic. I have had no change in anything..bleeding remains the same, no better, no worse. I went in for another ultrasound yesterday and was sure we would recieve the bad news that our baby's heart had stopped....BUT, we still have the healthy heartbeat and the baby has grown since last week. My levels went up a bit but still not where they should be. My dr said not to worry about that. Since we have a heartbeat the levels really don't matter at this point. I remain cautiously optomistic. This past week has been torture and heartbreak and I now have to get my mind in a positive place and hope for the best! I have a 15 month old healthy Son and had no complications with his pregnancy so this is all so new to me! Good to know I'm not alone! best wishes to all! anyone else had low hcg w/ the bleeding?

Hello, I just wanted to thank everyone who has written here because I felt so concerned. I started bleeding at 12 weeks. I woke up thinking that I had wet the bed, but it was blood, not urine. We went to the hospital. After an exam, they said my cervix was closed. A sonogram found the fetus’ heartbeat. After a few hours, they couldn’t do anything more and we went home. My doctor put me on bed rest for a week. I found subst_tutes for work. Almost two weeks later, I was in bed watching TV and started bleeding again. The second bleeding was much heavier. I could watch it steadily dripping out when I was in the bathroom. The blood was bright red and thin. I put on a pad and went back to bed. I tried being very quiet for 3-4 hours. I was regularly changing pads and it didn’t seem to be getting less. Finally, I called my doctor again and she said that it could be the placenta detaching from the uterine wall and that we should go to the ER. We arrived at the hospital just at the midnight shift change. Again the doctors found that my cervix was closed and the fetus was active on the sonogram. They released us at 7am. The bleeding had almost stopped. I kept in touch with my doctor and my bed rest was eventually extended, week by week, for four more weeks. When I went for my amnio, they saw a blood clot that they said was related to the bleeding. Now I am at 18 weeks and haven’t had any more fresh bleeding so far. Thanks again for your sharing.

I am ten weeks and had an ultrasound to be sure of dates. Baby heart beat was strong and we could see it wiggling etc. Doc found a large area of blood or fluid between the uterine wall and the pregnancy sac. Is this a sub chorionic hematoma. I am not bleeding at all but have slight low back pain. very slight cramping. Am I going to miscarry. Anyone had this before? scared stiff!

Has your Dr. recommended that you take a blood thinner?

Jennifer - October 29

Did you have any side effects from using the blood thinner? Which one did you use? Why did they have you stop? Will you use them again?

Jasmine- My DR. told me I was at risk for preterm as well but not to worry to much. Hospitals deal with premies all the time and I have faith if this happened to our family God will help the hospital staff care for us.

Hi all- I have started a more manageable board on this topic at babycenter.com. Here is the link: http://bbs.babycenter.com/board/pregnancy/pregcomplications/1232290/thread/2585832 I hope some of you will come over. I am at 17 weeks. My last (and only big one) bleed was at 15 weeks. Spotting, spotting, spotting dark brown though. Anyway-thisboard has been the most informative out there but the format is heinous. Please come by. I have a positive story which I hope helps some of you. I followed these posts when I was going through a very nervewracking time with a subchorionic hematoma and found them helpful. I began bleeding the first day I found out I was pregnant at barely 4 weeks. I bled pretty heavily the first couple of days which then tapered off to spotting for a couple of weeks. I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma at an ultrasound at 5 weeks (or so I thought...I have been dated back a week since then). At that ultrasound, they also saw the gest. sac and yolk sac. The doctor told me the hematoma was big (3cm) and he did not sound to convincing that everything was going to be okay. I went for another ultrasound the following week and we were able to see the fetal pole and hear the heartbeat. The hematoma was still there however my doctor told me it had gotten smaller. At that point, I stopped spotting and only spotted one more time after that. I went back for another ultrasound at 8 weeks and my doctor could not find the hematoma and said that it had absorbed. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and although I am not sure that I am totally in the clear, the hematoma and the bleeding are no longer present. I hope that my story can bring some of you a little hope as things can go from bad to good in a matter of weeks. I was a mess for the first few weeks of my pregnancy so I know how some of you are feeling and I just wanted to pa__s along a positive experience. Hope this helps and I will you all the best! I know it's hard but just try not to stress...for some reason I felt like I bled more when I would become very upset or stressed out. I don't know if there is any correlation between the two things but the less bleeding the better. Best of luck to all of you!

We are at sixteen weeks now and recently went for an ultrasound and our midwife tells us that the bloodclot seems to have goine for now at least anyways so that is some good news after all these weeks of worry. There is a chance that it could come back however, in the meantime my wife has had a few other health problems including a kidney infection and yeast infections but we are a__sured that these are not linked. Anyways that the latest from us.

Dear Friends, I checked Monica's site yesterday. Tragically she lost her twin boys on Saturday. Maybe we all could visit her site( www.caringbridge.org/visit/monicamangin) and give her our support Thank you to a fantastic group of Friends.

I will be induced at 39 weeks on November 26th. I am so ready to be done...Justine was due before me and Kathryn was due after...Are you guys out there?? Take heart all of you who are still starting of are in the middle of this process...time will pa__s and there is an end to the worry. I can't hardly wait to see my baby for the first time! Sabrina - yes! I am still here. Thought no one really came on here any more. I always take a look when I get an alert for a new message. So glad you are nearing the end. After a troublesome pregnancy it's like you just want them safe in your arms eh. Why are you getting induced? Hematoma related or something else? My current state is I am 34+2 (due boxing day) expecting a boy. Still getting those growth scans every 4 wks - next one at 36 wks then that's it til d day! Whenever that might be. No bleeding since week 14 so I am lucky. Hematoma was still there at scan in week 23 but then after that there has been no sign of it but that could be due to baby being so big after that? Consultant has signed me off so nothing scary now just having a normal preganancy. Trying to enjoy it but it is hard with 11 mth old Rosie to care for. Almost feel a bit guilty so try to give her as much time as I can playing etc but then I also want to nest. no rest for me! How are you feeling? Please update us when you have your baby. So glad you are well Sabrina. Kathryn x
