Is/has anyone taken the depo shot? Just curious as to how it affected your period. I got my first shot July 26 and got my period Aug 6 and am still bleeding. I know they say it may change your period and am hoping that it will go away soon as I'm going mental...2 weeks is too long for a period :( TIA

the very 1st time i got the shot when i was 17, i bled for a month straight! but then i didn't bleed again the whole time was on the shot aside from some light spotting aroung the time my shot was due again... i went on it again after i had my 1st child and don't remember exactly, but i think the situation was similar, maybe not as much innitial bleeding (couple weeks.) i'm sure everyone is different , but for me, once i was done bleeding it was GREAT! no period for years!

I had this shot also and I had break through bleeding all through out also. My Docter told me that this shot is given to women in third world to prevent pregnancy.
