Hello All-I am only 6m but I have been thinking about this. Pretty much everyone in my extended family has some sort of depression/anxiety issues and most of them are on various medications. I have taken my own share but decided I didn't like it and wanted to try and manage without. Because of family/personal history, do you think I may I be more prone to postpartum depression?

angeev- I have the same question as you. Depression and anxiety run in my family and I struggle with both. I see and therapist and practice yoga to help me with my symptoms. I am only 17 weeks, but raised the question to my doctor about PP depression. I am afraid that between my existing condition and the hormone imbalance, that I would become severly depressed. She suggested getting me started on anti-depressants before I even left the hospital with the baby. I asked if these meds would prevent me from b___stfeeding and she stated that depending on the meds, I may still be able to b___stfeed. Talk to your doctor and see if you can work out a plan in advance. I wish you luck and congrats on your baby.
