Hello everyone. I am looking to get any advise you have regarding your personal experiences. I have had 3 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy in the last 2 years. I have a 14 year old daughter. I'm 32 years old. I have a doctor appt on the 22 of January for follow up from my last miscarriage that just happened. My husband and I have taken so many blood tests, including one to check our chromosomes, my thyroid. I am being told that their is no reason it's just really bad luck that this keeps happening. I am in good health. I've quit having any caffeine. I don't smoke-hardly drink...never when I'm preg of course. I just don't know what to do now. Should I spend the money to go to a specialist? My doctor says no because of the "really bad luck". This last time I was on progesterone. My doctor wants to try that again with heparin shots and baby aspirin. Does anyone know anything else that I should look into or question my doctor about? Thanks- I would appreciate any ideas or information. :o)

I have heard that B vitamins help with the lining of the uterus...Don't know if it's true. If you get any information on that, let me know.

Hello.I'm in the same boat as you. I have also had 3 m/c's and 1 ectopic in the last 3 years. My recent m/c ended in December 2009 at 10 weeks. I was on baby aspirin and Lovenox shots everyday. My RE thought this would help carry my pregnancy to term, but it ended. I had genetic testing done on the fetus and it came back normal. Nobody is sure why this happened. I have had all testing and genetic done on myself and husband last summer and the only thing they found negative was that I tested positive for the MTHFR gene mutation, which is a controversial topic anyways. My husband and I are both 30 and very healthy. I always get the term thrown at me that it is simply bad luck or unexplained miscarriage. Well I can no longer accept that there is just no answer. We have no children and I can not keep going thru the losses and grieving process. Therefore, I contacted the University of Chicago school Medical Center -Recurrent Pregancy Loss Program for a second opinion and they also have clinical trials going on as well. I have an appt for March and am eager to see what kind of treatment or plan they will have for me. I would definately seek and interivew other high risk specialists (materal fetal medicne doctors) for 2nd, 3rd,etc.. opinions. I'm actually in the process of doing that myself. Don't just take one answer from one doctor. I currently take prenatal vitamins, spirulina and co-Q10. I've read that spirulina is good for the uterus and that after a m/c, your co-Q10 levels are depleted. However, when I was pregnant I just stuck to the prenatal vitamins.

Thank you so much for this information. I have been to 3 different doctors. All of which have told me the same thing. After reading what you have been through and what you're doing I feel like there is another option for us as well. Thank you for your post. If you remember please update with any info you have found. I will do the same. :O)

I will absolutely let you know any information regarding treatments or anything I come across and I appreciate the same. I'm sure you are very anxious for your doctor appt. coming up and are hoping for some type of answer. I will keep you in my prayers. Please let me know how your doctor appt goes. Also, have you gotten you first period since your m/c yet? I just did yesterday (45 days) and I have the most excruciating cramps and it is so heavy. Never experienced this before with my other m/c's. I was up all night with a heating pad and had to take 3 Tylenol 3's within 8 hours. I was in so much pain. I'm hoping it stops soon.

Oh my gosh! I havn't had that much pain before. I have waited 6 weeks once for my period to start. I havn't started yet. I had my d&c on the 6th of January. SO I just stopped bleeding from that on the 14th. Good luck I hope it goes away soon.

Thanks, already doing better. The pain stopped and the bleeding has lightened up a bit. Just taking it easy this entire weekend. I have an acupuncture appt tomorrow and hopefully I will get some relief from that too.
