Hi Fergie...so sorry to hear what you're going through. It sounds very similar to me. I found out I was pg 3/21 (well, that's when the dr confirmed it) but they couldn't see anything. My levels were tested every 48 hours and they did go up, but not nearly like they should have. I know that the fact that the numbers rise is probably giving you a bit of hope-I remember thinking that too. My dr advised a D&C for 3/29-1 week later. In that week I had been bleeding somewhat heavily and even went to the ER for pain. Btw-the ER dr told me I was just miscarrying and def. not ectopic, which I later learned was NOT the case. The D&C was done b/c my dr was sure this was not a viable pg and to help determine if it was ectopic. If pg tissue is found, then you're ok...it was probably just too small to see on a u/s and it was a m/c. If no pg tissue found, then it's ectopic b/c the hormone levels are rising from a pregnancy somewhere! (That was the case with me) I had the meth shot the next week, but b/c I had waited too long my tube was near rupture and I had to have emergency surgery 2 days after the shot...you don't want to let it get that far. Not only is it risking your life, but it hurts like crazy. OK now that you got that earful, I don't know all of your info (nor am I a dr!) so I don't mean to turn your situation into my own. Do you know how far along you are? Are you having any pain with the bleeding? Do you trust your dr? You'll find tons of great info from knowledgable ladies here-I hope it helps! Best of luck to you! DANIELLA that's awful about the drunk driver. Really gives my town a gret rep huh? We actually live on the border of Canfield-the Fair is a yearly thing! I cheered in HS and Mooney was one of our big rivals! I graduated HS in 99 and also attended YSU for only 2 years (I 1st went to Kent). I graduated in 03. I have friends from Struthers...that's just wild! Well, to make you feel better its getting colder outside and the sky's pretty gray here...definately Ohio :) Hope all goes well at your appt.!

Hi cbella, thank you very much for you reply,i should be 7weeks,i have been bleeding for a week which has near enough stopped,it was like a normal monthly period, slight cramps nothing out the ordinary,i have to go into hospital tomorrow to have more blood tests (i feel like a pin cushion) and scans so i will need to make a decision after them, wish me luck :-/ as you mentioned as the numbers keep rising,i have that slight hope that they will find something tomorrow, its probably as we've been ttc for 2yrs and wanted this sooooooooooo much!!!

Fergie, i know how you must feel. it sucks so bad. but do try to remember that all this may be for a reason. something that helped me when i had my 2 miscarriages was that my body was just getting rid of bad eggs, and if the docs could've saved them, they wouldn't have been normal. the other thing is at least it happened now instead of after they were born. can you imagine how hard it would be to deal with that? i know nothing can help with this right now. we are all here to help one another. but we all know how it feels. i'm due at the end of june. it's weird how i feel like i've been pregnant forever, but i can still remember lying on that exam table, bleeding and the docs saying there isn't anything in there. i know one thing, it's very hard, but try to just enjoy trying, and not think of making babies. it will happen like Daniella says, when everything is ready. maybe the planets have to align! who knows? Good luck to you and the others.....*baby dust**

Daniella- I plan on taking Robitussin to help with the cm. It was not an issue when I got pg in Sept, but last month it was. I will ask about the progesterone, I have a lot left over from my last pg, my level was a 3!! but of course it was ectopic. Fergie- My levels did the same. They slowly went up and they could not see anything on the u/s until I was in the ER going for surgery, the day after having the shot. I was 9 weeks! My levels jumped up after my d & c to 1400! They were at 233, 284, a week later 736, then 10 days later 1400. So I knew that is was not normal. I also had hope bc I stopped bleeding and cramping for almost a week! I just pray that the docs can give you a definate answer so you can be sure you are making the right decision. Good Luck! ~Tiffany

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing great. I am 22 weeks today! I go see my OB tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to getting weighed! LOL Talk to you soon!

Hi everyone! Guess what...I o'd!!! Sorry, I'm a bit too excited :) I had this thought in the back of my mind that it might not ever happen again-you know how we sometimes think the absolute worst for no reason. But that's just 1 more step in the direction of being regular again so I can ttc. That's why I am so excited. This is kinda funny-I told my dh I was o-ing and he said "should we go upstairs right now?" (meaning to bd) He was all anxious and quite serious. We had discussed how we'll wait at least 1 full cycle (which I don't think he fully understands what a cycle is) but it was just so sweet to see him like that. He's pretty laid back and doesn't really show emotions, so this was new to me! It broke my heart to say we couldn't do it! (I'm on dr's orders-no s_x for 3 more weeks!) Fergie-how are you doing? And Jody-good luck at the dr's tomorrow. Remember, being pg is a great reason to gain weight!!!

Hi everyone, cbella, i saw my doctor on friday to get a scan and to see what the best option was,he really wants me to take the metho shot but a lot of people have told me not to take even a pharmacutical rep,the doc says that i'm still pregnant but they just find it,great fun!!! i am going to get my hcg level re tested again to see what its doing, the last measure went up to 402.a mate of mine is a few weeks ahead of me and is going thru a similar situation, shes at a different hospital, they told her that they dont go by the hcg levels,(hers is only 700),her pregnancy is going fine, strange eh??? goodluck to everyone ***baby dust****

Daniella - April 30

Fergie- they have to go by the HCG during a pregnancy, especially with bleeding. Your HCG should "at least" double every 48 hours, but usually every 36 hours in the very beginning. If not, then something is wrong!!! I mean, if its close to doubling, then there might be the slight chance nothing.. but, if its hardly going up, then that is something to keep your eyes open for. An ectopic pregnancy is nothing to mess with. I almost lost my life because I kept avoiding it. They should definitely see a pregnancy in the uterus on a scan at 7 weeks. Heck, at 5w6d mine (this new pregnancy) had a heart flicker and at 7.5 weeks its hr was 167 bpm. Plus, you could see what looked like a little shrimp in the sac. Once your HCG hits 2000, you can see it in the uterus. That should be about 5 weeks. If your HCG isn't even going up enough to see it in the uterus, then something isn't right. I pray they find out whats going on soon. The last thing you want is a ruptured fallopian tube and hospitilization.

hey all, well, here i am in our new house, getting it ready for our family! i am now 8 months, and this kid is really getting heavy! i am starting to feel the Braxton Hicks and she's starting to run out of room in there! Daniella, what's the story? have you had him yet? :) i am starting to swell today, just hope i don't get that pre-eclampsia. the docs are really worried about me getting it, because of my high blood pressure in the past. so, hopefully, i can deliver naturally and without a c section. how is everyone else? jody, the weight thing is no big deal. i weighed 206 at my last appt. i normally weigh 175. but hey i guess it's all for a good reason! i'm starting to get stretch marks on the belly. after all the lotion and drinking water, and wearing the maternity belt! HA, didn't work. oh well, at least i never wore a bikini, or will in the future!

liltif - May 5

Melissa, I'm glad you are all moved. Is your husband doing any better? I swelled up the day after I had my DD. I could not put on my slip on shoes I wore to the hospital! I did swell in my last month also, and everything was fine. Just make sure you put your feet up!! I am now in my 2ww period..... My neighbor that I've mentioned is having a girl, but she went to her doc apt this week and they said the baby's brain is swelling or enlarged! They can not get her in until the 25th, so they might send her some where else to be re-checked. She had just got over the placenta coming away from the uterus/bleeding and now this! I feel so bad for her! I hope everyone else is OK. ~Tiffany

Jody - May 13

Hey Everyone! How are you all doing? I am almost 24 weeks! I feel great! I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is going! I have buying things for my baby already! I even bought some diapers. I hope you guys are doing well! Happy Mothers Day!

Marlaj - May 17

Hi all, congratulations to all expecting Moms. Recently went through something, don't know if it was a m/c or ectopic but I was given metho because my hcg levels was not dropping or rising like it should. I am still doing blood work and my last was 121. I am hoping to try again soon. I got a 9yr old and I am more than ready. great support here.

liltif - May 17

Marlaj-I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this! How far along are you? Have they done and ultrasound? Sorry for all the ?'s and I know what you mean about being ready! ~Tiffany

Marlaj - May 17

Thanks for responding Tiffany, the doc says I was about 6 wks along. I just want this part to be over so I can start trying again. I just also wanted to ask are we supposed to bleed after we've had the methotrexate. I has an endo biopsy the same day and spotted but no heavy bleeding.

liltif - May 17

I'm not sure, I didn't really get a "chance" to spot. I had to have emergency surgery the next day. I think I remember others saying that they did bleed afterwards. I'm sorry about what you are going through. Did your doc tell you how long you have to wait to try again? I've heard different things from different docs.... Good Luck and my prayers are with you! ~Tiffany
