Question About The Life Of Sperm

Ever since I got pregnant, my friend has wanted to get pregnant. Her boyfriend and her have s_x on a regular basis, so she's been telling me she's taking the condom with the sperm in it after he ejaculates and inserting it inside of her. Would that even result in pregnancy? Should she worry about infection? I don't know what to really tell her. I'm not sure if sperm dies when it hits air (because of sperm donors, im sure it has to be in air for some time) and whatnot. Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks !! Happy holidays!

She doesn't have to worry about infection any more than if she was having unprotected s_x -- which does raise the question of whether they have both been tested for STDs. Some have no symptoms, and since they're having protected s_x (at least he thinks they are) then why would they get tested or why would he tell her if he even knows he has one because he surely doesn't suspect what she's doing. Sperm will live for a short while, but it needs to be kept warm and moist. If it spends too much time at room temperature it will die, and of course if it dries up, it will die -- but like you said neither of these things are instantaneous so she could get pregnant this way. If you can't convince her, tell her boyfriend what she's doing. She may be your friend, but she doesn't have the right to screw up his life the way it will be if she does get pregnant.

When he throws it in the garbage she takes it right away and inserts it while he's not looking. I don't really know what to do anymore. It's making me think I should talk with her boyfriend? I don't want to get feel like it's my fault when she gets pregnant for knowing and not letting him know.
