My water broke at 3:30pm on the 20th, but i wasnt having contractions so i called l&d and they said to come in so i got there at about 4. they started me on pitocin to get the contractions going at about 11pm the contractions where so horrible and i couldnt take it anymore so i got the epidural, i was 7 cm just before they did the epidural., after the numbing started they checked again and i was 10. so they let me rest and they had me start pushing at about 12 30. i pushed for 13 minutes and she was born. she was 7 lbs 15.6 oz and a week and 2 days early, she is perfect in every way!!

Congratulations!!! You make it sound like it was such a cinch! I guess I should ask that question-for you girls who have had your second baby, how did it compared to the first? Pain-wise, and time-wise?

it was ALOT quicker this time, my contractions where alot stronger (i think that was cuz of the pitocin) so i dilated much quicker, as for pain other than the contractions I didnt really feel much with either cuz of the epidural.

I think pitocin makes you dilated quicker too. I was half a cm dilated, then they gave me pitocin and I shot up to 10cm in literally 2-3 hours. I was like I've been waiting here for 8 hours with no progress, why didn't you give me that earlier?!

haha ya that sucks when they do that, it took me a while to dilate fully with Dominik and i pushed for 3 hours with him and this time it was like 3contractions (so 3 sets of 3 pushes) and she was out. I was so amazed. and the difference in the nurses at this hospital was amazing. all in all it was a better birth lol quick easy and pretty much pain free. I love how as soon as they put that goo filled baby on you, you forget how much everything hurt and how bad your pregnancy sucked lol.
