Girlfriend 17 Is Pregnant After Recent Abortion

h__lo, basically my girlfriend is pregnant, after recently having an abortion. We are both in last years of college (live in London, UK).
Her mother had alot of problems getting pregnant, and had lots of miscarrages and when she told the doctor at the abortion she was told that it will make it harder for her to get pregnant and she could have the same problems (although evidently not if shes pregnant now..), therefore another abortion is really out of the picture.
We can't support a child, as much as we'd like too. We don't know what to do, as it seems there aren't many other options other than to keep it - therefore giving the child a bad upbringing.
Anyone, with any advise/helpful comments please share as I am so confused and at a loss as to what to say/do.. :(

I don't know what the laws are in UK, but I am certain that there are adoptive families who would love this child and consider it to be the greatest gift ever received. This is how we feel about our son, and about our son's birthmother. Adoptive parents go through a rigorous screening to be sure they are of good character and to be sure that the child will be loved and cared for. I love my son as much or more than I might have loved a biological child, as he was so long in coming. Our wanting and waiting made us appreciate him all the more.
