I am 20 weeks pregnant, had an apt with dr today they heard baby heart beat everything looked good (didnt do ultrasound)on the way to the doctor we where hit from behind by another car and we hit the minivan in front of us, I told me doctor about it as soon as i got there and once they checked me tehy said i was fine it was a moderate accident, not too to serious, this was at 2 30 pm today and its now 11 30 and I just went to the bathroom and i looked down and found a blood clot (almost like a period one) about the size of a penny and there was also blood on the toilet paper.. im wondering do i goin or should i trust the dpctor when he said it was okay earlier ??/ thanks guys :D

Yeah, I'm glad you went in, I had bleeding not that long ago from erm.. well.. s_x and I guess it was just a little rough but it's better to know and be safe than to not know at all. And sometimes doctors can't really tell ya what it's from.

they couldnt tell me , they checked to make sure it was pre-matiure labour, and it wasnt so they said i could go home nad they left it at that. Ill talk more with my doctor at my next apt and see whats going on! i think this baby likes to scare me ,,, cant wait to see what its like when its a toddler

they did ultrasound but sent me home yesterday it was bright red with mucous and tday its dark red with mucous, they didnt do an internal.. should i be worried ?

You should call your doc immediately .. not doing an internal is so bad your cervix could be open, or you could have an infection like I did that needs meds!! BAH! Those b___ds!

well thats hwat i thought and teh only thing that i can think is that its prterm labour caused by the force of the hit of the car accident but she refused to check and i just called in and they are like wlel we cant garuntee we will do an internal so when the bf gets home im going to go and demand that they check and stuff, and then she told me if its preterm they cant do anything either its a still born or it will likely die within a few days if not hours i was in tears she had me so upset and iddnt even bother to give me piece of mind i was ok

Not. Cool. I'd be really worried if I were you. I'd go down there and start punching some heads in until they preformed every possible test. It's not normal to have blood clots.

I know most already replied, but when I was about 18weeksishes..lol pregnant with Zaiden, a cement truck slammed on his breaks on the freeway, hit the semi in front of him, I rear ended the cement truck going about 55 and the car behind me hit me going what "HE" said was about 20....I went immediately to the dr and the dr said that mainly they check the heart rate for two reasons. 1 because they want to make sure that the trauma did kill the baby (I know that sounds harsh but I couldnt think of what other words to put it in sorry) and 2. after the shock of something like that the babys heart rate can elevate to the point where it can send him into shock.. besides the heart rate it can send you in pre mature labor, but the pml usually is just the uterus contracting on a irregular basis, and will in most cases stop itself. The MAIN concern is the immediate injuries that it caused to you and your baby. I think you and your baby are okay, but in my accident my doctor DID do a pelvic exam just to make sure...I would go back to triage if you are really concerned and act like you are haveing contractions. they will put you on the monitor, so you can see if you are having any contractions you cant feel...then I would DEMAND you have a full pelvic exam...thats the best I can tell you. keep us updated =D
