I don't think the talking issue is anything to worry about. When Ellie first started to talk she rarely did it at all... I always looked at it like, say if you were going to learn Spanish (or some other language) it would be kinda embarra__sing if you pronounced everything wrong in front of someone who spoke it fluently, so you practice it in private. I have no idea if that's what it is, but that's how it is in my head hahaha.

lol amanda thats a good way to put it lol........ well its 8.30pm and i've been trying settle her for about an hour......she's been like this the last v3 nights, she has been doing really good at going to bed, she'l either fall asleep or talk to her self but latley she gets so tired and is so stubborn, she'd rather scream than give in.......but its strange because she's started sleeping in later in the morning and having longer naps during the day so i dont know if its a growth spurt thing? im going to try putting her to earlier and see how that works out, but i still dont understand why she's finding it so difficult to fall asleep?

It's hard to say when I'm not there. There could be a billion and one reasons. Does she take a pacifier or use a swing? Does she act tired earlier in the day? When is her bedtime? Do you have a bedtime routine down? Just fiddle with whatever ideas you have and see how she responds to them. Sometimes they just cry and no one can figure out why.. in those cases the best you can do is make her comfortable and hope she'll get over it haha.

yes she has a pacifier but when she screams she just spits it out, she has swinging chair which always works if she's acting tired during the day her bed time 7.30-8 depends on how long she takes to feed and every other night its bath, feed, bed i mean nothing has change at really so i dont know why she suddely started doiing this, during the day she usually falls asleep on the move as she just wont fall asleep in her cot during the day, so i was thinking she needs to be placed in her cot more at nap times so she knows she has to go to sleep but it still doesn't explain why she has been perfect at going to bed until now lol, im defo guna try putting her to bed earlier though, like start doing everything an hour earlier and see how that works

Hmm...Do you use a rocking chair? (I read somewhere that people in the UK don't use rocking chairs and I have no idea how accurate that is lol)

lol like a human rocking chair? or a baby chair that rocks? cos i have both lol! i dont knowwhere you heard that from lol, it doesnt really make a difference if i sit in itwith her......the only thing that really does anything is if i lay on my side with heidi on her side facing me with i arm around her so she's really close to me? she'l just lie there quietly and then fall asleep until i move her to put her to bed and there back at square one again lol! she has her 12 week injections on wednesday so that's not going to help the fussyness lol

Haha yeah I thought that was weird. I read it somewhere on the internet. I don't remember where exactly. Yeah with her wanting to be close to you it sounds like she's just not feeling very well and it's keeping her up at night. When Ellie gets sick we have no choice but to co-sleep with her because she won't fall asleep anywhere else. Just wait for her to feel better and she should go back to normal with one or two fussy nights just because she'll miss co-sleeping.

yea maybe thats it, i sometimes have to put her in our bed at about 6-7am because she just wont sleep in her cot and i have to sleep to atleast 8am to function at the moment lol, well i left her with tonie all day today so havnt fed her of my b___b all day and im just pumping now as she is in bed and its quite watery, i mean its still a milk colour but comparing it to the other milk it just doesn't look as thick and stuff, is that ok? do you think it will thicken up again?

amanda17 - May 2

Sure, your milk changes color regularly, though maybe you don't notice. When your b___st is full, it releases the foremilk. Foremilk is watery, and a crazy color.. It looks almost blue to me. As the feeding progresses though, the milk turns to what we would think milk typically looks like. Because you haven't been b___stfeeding, your b___sts have stored up a lot of the foremilk that is usually released during the beginning of the feeding (or even beforehand) so now you have more of it and that's probably why you're just noticing.

oh that makes sence considering i usually express after i feed her.........she drank 16oz in 12hours and say 1 maybe 2 feeds in the night she typicly drinks 4-5 oz so that makes it about 24oz in 24hours.........does that sound normal for a 12 week old? sorry about all of these questions im just on a roll lol

Yep that's a really good amount.
