27 Weeks Weight Gain

Just worried about my weight gain, doc seems to think I'm fine but people keep saying things to me!!!! My pre-pregnancy weight was 105 and I'm not 121 lbs, would probably not be worried but have had a few people ask me if I'm eating! I guess I look little but even though I feel I eat a healthy amount i did have killer morning sickness. What has everyone experienced? Why do people say things like this to pregnant women???? :)

Angel, unfortunately people don't think to hold back when saying things to pregnant women. People can be so rude and not realize that what they are saying it not called for. You can either say something to them about what they said or ignore it. I think people need to be conciderate of pregnant women and realize that what they are saying or doing to them may not be what the pregnant woman wants. Ugh that stuff makes me so mad. In regards to your weight, you are perfectly fine and seems like your progressing like you should. Some people say you should only gain so much during pregnancy but everyone is different and they gain what is needed. I have 4 children which includes this pregnancy and my first 2 kids I gained 34-36 lbs and those were boys, my last pregnancy was a girl and I gained 60 lbs and with this pregnancy I was still 15 pounds over my normal before pregnancy birth and I have gained on top of that 38 lbs so far, I am 37 weeks today. I still have a couple weeks but I just make sure I am taking my prenatal vitamins, drinking lots of water and eating enough to make sure both the baby and I are getting what we need. Hope that helps. GL and take care.

Thanks mahagen! Yes people are so rude sometimes! :) But you're right as long as doing what's right. I'm also drinking lots of water and I used to LOVE fast food & processed stuff but the thought of it turns my stomach. I can't get enough fruit, steamed rice, grilled chicken and multigrain cheerios the last few months so I guess that's why? I used to have the worst eating habits ever and now I'm afraid to even have a piece of candy while pregnant, which is probably a little extreme I'm just so happy to finally be having a baby I don't want to screw it up in any way. I just wish people would keep their mouths shut...LOL!!!! Thanks again for your response though....Kate
