Just thought I'd through out a good doc_mentary done by Ricky Lake about childbirth. It is a good one for if you are planning on going med free or with a midwife.

my husband and I rented that not too long ago... its very informative and now I understand why women or ratehr why SOME women choose midwives over doctors....but really its all about what you're comfotable doing. Whichever way a couple decides to go for birthing is up to them. We opted to stick to the hospital at first, but I recently transferred over to another prenatal women's clinic headed by a doctor who employes 3 midwives...and there is the option of having a water birth at the hospital... so I think we're going ot try for it...if they'll allow me. My first appt with them is this Tuesday, so we'll see!!! I'm 35 weeks Saturday! yay!

I really liked this doc_mentary too but I did have one problem with it. There was a part where they were trying to say that women that have pain meds and epidurals do not bond as well with their babies and feel as protective because they do not get the big release of oxytocin. That was very offensive to me. I am super super close to my son and almost overprotective and I had an epidural. I wanted a natural birth really bad but due to circ_mstances I had to opt for an epidural (long story but not midwives fault). The births in the film were so beautiful though, I have always wanted a water birth but it is not an option with my midwives because I am on military insurance so I go to a military hospital. I am just thankful to have midwives.
