Hey everyone - as lots of you know, I was really overdue with little Levi. We were scheduled to be induced on Friday the 13th but got bumped. I didn't really want the induction because I wanted him to come on his own so I could avoid the drugs. Well, they kept me on the list for Saturday in case I changed my mind - and called me at 6am!!!! I wasn't prepared to go in yet and asked if I could have some time. I called back at 8:30 and had to have the nurses check with the doctor about whether or not I had to be induced. They made me come in for a non-stress test and all was good. They let me go home to wait it out. Oh, On friday I lost a ton of my plug or something so I really knew things were on their way. So...Tim and I decided to get lunch before going home. On our way out of the diner I had a gush of something - and it soaked through my undies/pants. I freaked thinking it was my bag of water. The hospital had me come in to check - and of course, it wasn't. Just more plug and KY Jelly. :) Went home again at 4pm. Took a little one hour nap, ate dinner - and at 7:30 I had my first contraction and they started coming every 7 minutes. We went back to the hospital and ended up having my water broken at 10pm ish - can't quite remember - and started having stronger contractions. Let me tell you - I had some horrific contractions - I sat in a rocking chair for quite a while and could not get up because it hurt too bad, I'd have massive contractions. Around midnight I was at 8cm - and got back in bed for a while. Finally, at 2:30 I gave up on the drug free birth, I begged for the epidural and wasn't sure I was going to survive till I got one. They had to put some fluid in me first which sucked cuz I had to wait. Then, when the anesthesiologist came he made me sit on the edge of the bed which I almost could not do it hurt so damn bad!!!! I was screaming at this point - haha -and could care less who was there and honestly don't even know who was with me anymore. When he was putting the needle in my back I had 4 contractions and I had to literally scream and sit perfectly still which was the most painful experience of my entire life. It took several more contractions for me to start feeling anything at all and by the time he was done sticking me and I was laying down again to get checked, I was at 10cm and had to push!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I was soooo close. BUT..... let me tell you how glad I am that I got it. When you push out a 9lb 11oz baby with back labor - drugs are pretty darn good. I could still feel my legs quite a bit AND the birth of my little guy. Not fully, but plenty enough to know what it feels like. I pushed for 20 minutes and he was out with just a small cut - the dr gave me an epesiotomy without telling me but it was really small considering the size of my little man. :)Now my ass hurts like h__l and I had to get some stronger drugs than advil. Little Levi is a whopping 9 pounds 11 ounces, 21" long. He was born at 3:51 am on June 15, Father's day!! Feeling decent now - little man is br___tfeeding wonderfully and sleeping up a storm. He has been SO good - very different than my dd was. All in all, even though I didn't want drugs, I had a wonderful experience. The nurses were so proud of me considering how big he was and said the epi probably relaxed me enough to have things progress so quickly at the end. Ok - got to get some sleep now. Catch up with you all later!!! Happy Father's Day!
