Sudden Increase In Contractions

I'm only about 35 weeks and I've never had more than two Braxton Hicks contractions in one day. Today I've had about ten. I didn't think to time them until about an hour ago. The two I've had since were 30 minutes apart. At about 2pm this afternoon, my outie belly button went back to being an innie, and my stomach got really small, like she flattened out or something. It didn't feel like anything it just looked really weird, and my contractions have not been painful. Do you think this is a sign of premature labor? If so, how do I stop it?

They wouldn't really do much of anything to stop labor at 35 weeks. The number of contractions you are having is totally normal. What you wanna look for is if they become consistant, start coming closer together, and get more intense. You might wanna try drinking some extra water and getting of your feet if they;re bothering you or if they get worse. LOL about your belly b___ton, mine does that too.

I am 34 weeks and somedays I will get contractions every 5 minutes for 2 hrs straight and then they go away-towards the end of your pregnancy you will notice an increase in contractions. And when you are in actual labor they will not be painless-trust me- I went into labor 2 days ago and had contractions 1 min apart and 1 min long that KILLED they were so painful and b/c I wasn't dilating with them it was called false labor and I was sent home. I wouldn't be too concerned about it it's normal to get more frequent BH's as you go your body is just warming up for the real thing. Plus when you are in real labor they do not go away at all and just keep getting more intense-they say laying on your left side and drinking water like kay said

Thanks girls, every time I feel like something is wrong someone tells me to drink more water. I try, but I can only drink so much, especially with such a tiny bladder! lol! Well anyway, my contractions have kind of died down, I was just freaked out because it happened so quickly. I was pretty sure I would get more contractions the farther along I got, but I was just expecting them to gradually get to that point.

sounds like they are BH. I was getting them since week 26 on. I am now 37 weeks. It is good for your body. My doctor sais if they are 5 min apart at least 1 min long then they are probably the real thing. If you change positions or do something different and the contractions change in duration or frrequency then they are probably BH. I had 17 in one hour one evening at around 33 weeks.. I knew they were BH but I thought it could cause me to go into labor. I took Benadryl which is a smooth muscle relaxor. The same ingredient is in some sleeping pills such as nytol - diphenhydramine. My doctor said taking Benadryl was ok.. It worked and gave me the rest that I so needed. If you had them 30 min apart I would not do a thing. BH contractions are good for you. It is exercise for the uterus. If they get annoying, drink water as you may be slightly dehydrated. Also, the baby's movement may cause them. In regards to the innie belly b___ton, the baby switched positions. She is either lying on her side so the her back is pressed against your inner side or her face is up facing the belly b___ton with head down near the pelvis. If she stays face up, you will want to confirm this with the doctor because this is not the optimal position for birth. But you have time for her to switch back to the proper position

Amanda-you know what's so annoying I've been dehydrated 5 times now and hospitalized for preterm labor and that's all I hear is drink water the thing is I drink like 4 or 5 bottled waters every day and I still get dehydrated it drives me freakin crazy I swear after I have the baby I never want to even see water again! Unfortunately the baby is sucking everything outta me And it's like water is the answer to everything apparently!
