ekay03 - July 30

Hey guys, I am 38w5d, due 08/08/08. Everyone including my 4 year old daughter thinks I am having her on the 31st though! Oh wait, that's tomorrow! Gabbi, I really hope if you aren't in labor you check in with us. I'm sorry we were all MIA in your time of need. :-) Katie, they seem to be cutting it REALLY close with the c-section and your due date-they aren't worried about spontaneous labor with a breech baby? Or maybe its just me being paranoid! Is anyone else's hips KILLING them? I dread nighttime because my hips hurt so freaking bad. Well, I have an appt. today, so I will let ya'll know the progress!!! I was a 2-3 last time, so lets hope for a 3 or 4!

cnasmom - July 30

good morning ladies. Boodah, i was due 8/1 and had her the 26th. My hips hurt so bad now. worse than when i was pregnant. my mom said i need to have an mri done or an xray, cuz they seem dislocated. i can't hardly bend over or nothing. i've already lost 20 lbs! geez, 10 of it was baby, lol i thin kthe rest has been water weight. my feet are still a little swollen but look much better! my bp is still higher than normal so i don't get it unless i was getting pre e and its just taking its time getting outta my system, which is what some of my nurses thought. erin, since you've had babies. the first week or two after you had them, do you feel just not quite right? kinda spacey sometimes? i can't explain it. i just don't feel right and i don't think i did after my last one either. oh well, gabbi, check in!!! are you in labor??

anamariaflorencia - July 30

I'm Ana, due 8/17, so 37 and 1/2 weeks along. Had my first internal check yesterday which was painful! Cervix really high but dialated to 1cm and 50% effaced. I think I've been losing my mucus plug since then and bleeding too, but I think it's normal.

I am sorry that some of you are suffering through hip pain, but I am relieved to know I am not alone. I honestly sleep better sitting upright on the couch or chair than I do trying to lay down. It's only my right hip that hurts though, so I swap over to my left side. Then my freaking left shoulder and arm either hurt or goes numb. Not to mention I have a cushion that I have to keep wedged under my belly or it goes to hurting. So, about every hour during the night I wake up to turn over and have to position my cushion each time. It's so freaking frustrating. then Keith wakes up after sleeping 6-7 hours straight wondering why I have such a hard time getting up. I've told him several times I would like to see him carry around a 40+ pound belly that rolls and kicks parts that it was never meant to reach (like ribs for instance..lol) and see how well he gets around.

Oh and the hormone thing - I thought it was bad while pregnant - but wow!! What a blubbering mess I am now. All I have ot do is look at her and I cry because I am so happy she is mine and healthy and then the next second I am so sad that I am not pregnant anymore and miss feeling her inside where she is safe. I hope the rest of you guys are hanging in there ok - almost done girls!! I have to run adn take Jessica to the doctor because she sounds like she is sill havingtrouble with some mucus in her throat and I just want to make sure it is not caught in her throat. I will check back in after!

hiya ladies, im 39 wks plus a day or two, went in for a checkup yesterday, i am not effaced but i am 2 1/2 ish dilated-- this is my second so i'm feeling really calm compared to the first time! baby is totally engaged, i could feel the head in my hips every time i moved around to get comfy last night. thankfully i've been sleeping ok, but with the a__sistance of lots of pillows and i toss and turn a lot. I'm super excited to meet this babe of mine, the s_x is a suprise :) but at the same time i do remember with my first the feeling of wierd spacey detachment after baby's born, that wistful feeling of wanting baby back in my safe belly.... to the mamas who were asking, yes, it does take a bit to get back to feeling "normal".. the hormones, the body going back to not having 2 beings in it.... anyways, im feeling good but super spacey now, i can feel labor coming but we're moving so i keep telling baby not yet!! 2 days... all i need is 2 days... LOL

Ok I'm just got back from the doctor's office. I'm still closed up like Fort Knox. The doc decided to strip my membranes to see if labor progressed. I don't mind being pregnant, but I really don't want to go overdue. They set my next appointment for next Thursday (which is 1 day past my due date). The doc said that if I still haven't progressed by then, we could decide then whether to wait it out or induce. I'm undecided right now. I want her to come when she's ready, but at least if I get induced then I know that I will be at the hospital in time to receive the antibiotics for the strep b. Also, my weight gain is seriously adding up now. I'm freaked out everytime I get weighed. I know a lot of it now is due to swelling and fluid retention but GEEZ. My doc hasn't said anything bad about it yet, but I have honestly put on more than 15 lbs in the past month. The good part is that most of what I eat now that I am on leave is healthy, so I don't have the guilt of eating a whole lot of junk food, but I still cringe at the scales.

softbreeze200 - July 30

Ironmama - hopefully that babe of yours will wait till your moved!! I amglad to know that from you experienced mommas that it is really normal to be feeling this seperation even though she is here in my arms. I guess the fear of something that could happen out of my control is what scares me now that she is out in the real world and out of my safe belly. I am sure it will go away. Hopeful - keep us posted if anything changes since they stripped your membranes, Did it hurt?? I have heard that it can be quite painful. I hope not. I knew my swelling was pretty severe before when preggers, but holy- molly did my feet and legs swell after I gave borth. It took a couple days, but they swelled worse than they did when we were in New York. They are still pretty puffy, but going down slowly. Just so you guys are prepared incase it happens to you, apparently it is really common from all the IV they pump into you while in labor. I can't wait to get my feet and ankles back and be able to wear something other than my one pair of flip flops that I have been wearing for the past three months!!Oh and Boohda - sorry I forgot to post my infor last time for you. I am Patti and was due Aug 6 - she was born at 38 weeks exactly on July 23rd. I guess she was just ready to come out!!! :)

softbreeze200 - July 30

Oh and just a quick update on Jessica. We went to the ER today because she was sounding really congested in her throat and I was worried about there still being some mucus in her throat from when we were in the hospital and I was scaed that she couldn't breath properly. They checked her out and said that she is doing really well, and she is congested - they can see it in her nose, but theya re not sure what is casuing it. Only being 7 days old they said it is too early to be able to pinpoint it's cause. They figure it is just left over mucus from birth and it should go away on its own. She is to see her dr on tues and she will check to see if it is getting better. She is stll a bit jaundiced, so they will check that as well. Otherwise she is doing amazing! She is so sweet and is sleeping about 5 hours at night, so it hasn't been too bad on us. I can't put her down though!! I just want to hold her and kiss her all day!1 Lol!! She has me wrapped around her little finger!! Anyway, talk to you all tomarrow. Gabbi - I hope you are doing well and maybe we will get some news on miss Casey soon!!:)

ekay03 - July 30

Hey guys-went to the doc today and I am still a 2, 60% effaced and -2 station. So doesn't look like Creedence will be joining us soon. I know I am at least somewhat progressed, but it depressed me so much for some reason to be the same! I think maybe when we go to my doctor on Tuesday I will see about gettin the darn membrane stripping just because of Carl's work schedule, which sucks because I kinda want a 08/08/08 baby. I'd be happy with a 08/05 or 08/06 though! Leah, let us know for sure if your membrane stripping did anything. I'm kinda ignorant on the whole m.s. thing, but don't you have to at least be a little bit dilated for them to do it? In any case, hope it works soon!!!! Gabbi, hope your okay!

Hopeful3 - July 30

The doc didn't say anything about me being dilated at all. As soon as he walked in, I said please don't make me go pa__sed my due date!!! He started laughing and said to go into labor then. He just joined the office in July, but he is probably my favorite doc there. While he was checking me, he said that she had dropped enough to feel her head, but not enough to put me in labor. I won't say it hurt, but I started tensing up while he was doing the membrane sweep. I already knew that I would bleed afterwards, so at least I didn't freak out on them this week. I have been uncomfortable this evening, but I haven't had any "real" contractions yet. My stomach got rock hard acouple of times, but nothing that screamed labor at me.

gabbysally - July 30

I'm here, she's still in there!! I spent the day with my BF since it was her birthday, but I made sure to do mostly sitting b/c I don't want to give casey the wrong idea and make her think I'm ready!! I'm such a wacko :) so nothing to report yet, and hopefully nothing until the weekend!! I'm determined to hold her in and go to the wedding on friday!! good night ladies :) patti, I'm glad jessica is doing so good!!!

KITKAT01 - July 31

Ok Gabbi you can make it 48 hours I am routing for ya lol just don’t dance at the wedding and go into labor!! how far away is the wedding from your hospital?? Patti i am glad that they don’t seem concerned with the stuffiness and I hope it does all clear away on its own I know I am going to freak out over every little thing lol... Erin the earliest they could guarantee me a room was the 4th cuz one of the other hospitals in out area just closed down due to bankrupsy and now all their patients are moved to my hospital i asked the doctor what to do if i feel i am in labor he just said call him and they would let me know he didn’t seem to concerned but i am!! i guess its not bad that you have not progressed maybe you will have the 08-08-08 baby that would be exciting...Danielle how are you doing other than the hip pains?? do you get any sleep with three lil ones?? Ironmomma good luck with the move hope your lil one can stay put just two days doesnte sem like alot to ask lol...Leahh good luck with getting things going and i know what you mean about the weight gain the last few weeks i have gained more weight the last 4 weeks then i did the whole rest of the pregnancy i cant belive it but i do realize i have been alot less active the last few weeks so i will just blame that
