Loose Stool Lightheadedness Verge Of Nausea Whats The Deal

Hey gals- since we're all in the third trimester and know that TMI is never TMI...I'll start from the beginning...lol. DH has a new job out of town and I see him on weekends for now. I went and spent the weekend with him on Friday. Of course we did the dirty...twice Friday and once Saturday. Both times I noticed I was still -well you know, like wet the next morning...several hours after. On Sunday I had some slight cramping...and braxton hicks when I woke up...and I figured it was because I was holding my pee. I went to the bathroom and felt relieved and hopped in the shower. I lost a glob of goo...at once...not jsut discharge like usual...it was clear and there was a quarter sized of white, more solid dishcarge that came out with it. This covered the width of three fingers. I continued to shower and thought it might be strange... so after asking some preggo friends, I called my OB on call. She told me to come in if I started leaking any fluids consistently, but if I wasn't, to wait until my appt on Thursday and tell my doc so he can do a cervical exam. I didn't have too much else going on the rest of the day.. I felt like I was leaking something...but not enough to be alarmed I guess, because it stopped. I had a few more braxton hicks that day and some pressure too. Since the weekend though, I've been going #2 quite easily....it starts off with some cramping and some braxton hicks and then if I go to the bathroom its'll come out pretty easily...thus the term "loose stool"..and its usually a lot. I'll go a couple times a day...and it starts witht he cramping...well today I had the same instance...with the braxton hicks, after lunch. On my break I had a couple of slightly painful tightenings on either side of my stomach...but they'd stop almost as soon as they started. When I got back from lunch, I had to got o the bathroom because of my stomach cramps and braxton hicks, and i almost felt nauseous...like I was on the verge of puking but not really. So then again I had the loose stools...some pressure off and on....and lightheadedness...that seemed like it coudl turn into a headache. All the while, I'm sitting there, feeling this consistent thump thump thump in my stomach, almost like baby hiccups...but my stomach wasn't moving like usual, and its hard to describe, but I could feel it in my stomach (uterus), but not outside. Anyway---now I still feel lightheaded...but no cramping at all...what do you think is going on? Is this normal? The cramping, braxton hicks, loose stools, light headedness? I might call my doc this afternoon and tell him whats going on. Any opinions or thoughts are appreciated...I'm 28 weeks..almost 29 this Saturday

gosh, well after re-reading my post, this all doesn't sound normal at all. Anyone else experience this before?

I have experienced something similar to that - but like yousaid since TMI isn't really TMI here I gotta tell ya that I think the glops were probably s____n especially since you did it so many times and if you man is like mine after a week of not getting any that stuff is thick and gloppy so I think you are good and I have been getting the braxton hicks and loose stools with light headedness....so???? I think you are good - I am 28 weeks tomorrow and think we just might be part of the lucky ones who will get some nausea in the third trimester..

thanks for the input! Yeah- I was wonderign if it was s____n, but I'd never seen it so clumpy and thick...yuck. ;-) Plus...it had been at least 15 hrs since we'd had s_x...but it very well could be that. Yeah- I was wondering if the nausea could just be part of the joys of this third tri...I was hoping i wouldn't be one of those lucky ones. :-S oh well!

I don't want to freak you out, but reading your post it sounds like labor coming on? The glob sounds just like the mucous plug from how friends have described it to me (s____n wouldn't make a chunk that big....it is much more liquidy). Seriously I'd call your doctor or go to the ER as it's much better to be safe than sorry. I mean then they can monitor you for a bit at L&D or something. I've just read lots of posts on here and it sounds like all the things women going into labor write.....please keep us posted!!!

Thanks Stefkay! I called my doc and left a message on their answering service--- i bet they're busy, but someone shoule be calling back soon. This isn't anything consistent, but its been happening about twice a day since Saturday..today was the first time it was so "intense". The pressure I feel is also inconsistent....so I'm jsut unsure...

They will probably ask you if it is consistent, and that is good that it is not! But, let them know you don't "feel" this is right and the leaking feeling worried me too so I'm sure it's bothering you. Doctors are sometimes so lax about things that's why I'm glad to know I can always go straight to labor and delivery if I feel really freaked about something and they pretty much have to check me out. If I call my dr's office they will make me wait forever to call me back and then tell me it is all normal, lol :) Take it easy and I'm sure everything is ok! you just want to be sure...

sounds like mucus plug to me - but you can lose it and have it replaced .... keep us posted, I'm curious to see what the doc says.

Well, my nurse calle dme back yesterday at about 4:30 and after listing off everything I typed here, she reccomended I go to Labor and Delivery right away, because what I was experiencing wasn't normal. Anywho, so I went and---was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about by the nurses in triage. You know what they told me?! That I probably had the 24 or 48 hr flu bug thats going around. Hm, funny, because yesterday was Tuesday, and I've had the "48 hr " bug since Saturday, huh? And since when does the stomach flu cause painful Braxton Hicks...pelvic pressure, nausea and lightheadedness...only at the commencement of the Braxton Hicks? So they put me on an IV to "hydrate" my body since I was "sick", and took my blood for lab so they could detect the virus in my system. Guess what? Lab work came back completely normal. Suprise Suprise. So their excuse for that was that the virus wasn't fully developed and they'll have to do lab work again at my appt. on Thursday, because the virus will probably show by then. WTH?!!! That makes no sense at all, if you ask me! Basically, they said I contracted the 24 or 48 hr flu on Saturday and it wont show in my blood till Thursday?! Aaand since when does the stomach flu cause pelvic pressure and ppainful braxton hicks? I would also think that having the stomach flu, I'd feeel like c___p all day....but I only feel bad when the braxton hicks happens and I end up on the toilet with abundant loose stool. Now they cla__sified that as diarrhea. I've had diarrhea...thats watery...---but what I am experiencing are loose stools. So when they finally discharged me 4 hrs later...the stupid nurse told me to take Immodium for my diarrhea. I"M NOT taking medication for something I DON"T HAVE! I looked at her and said" BUT I DON"T HAVE DIARRHEA!!! I have LOOSE STOOLS ONLY WHEN I HAVE A PAINL BRAXTON HICKS CONTRACTION, FOLLOWED BY EVERYTHING ELSE I"VE TOLD YOU!" Her response was that the so called "contraction" I was feeling was my loose bowels because of the flu, the nausea is because the flu is making me dehydrated, and the lightheadedness was from straining. I've also been consitpated and had the loose bowels before, and I've never had them give me contractions...or cause my uterus to ball up.Plus, I wasn't strainign on the toilet! Anyhow...she didnt' listen to me...and just looked at me like I was stupid and didn't know what I wwas talking about...like I don't know what I'm feeling isn't he stomach flu!!! I just wanted to scream! ANOTHER Thing! If I was "dehydrated" because of the flu, it would have shown in my bloodwork, or urine as well, or when they gave me an IV...because the needle would have had a hard time getting into a dehydrated vein. UGH! This morning I've had a feeling like little bubbles popping low down in my vajajay, like somethings going ot come out. Weird pressure too, but hey, its the STOMACH FLU!!!! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

the good thing was that they had one of those Non stress Test belts on me to monitor the baby and any contractions. Yeah---no contractions then, but I got ot hear little Dante's heartbeat for 4 hrs...and he was squirming all over the place.OH--and they did do a cervical exam...and my cervix is closed. I jsut want to know why this is all happening and they have no explanation!!!!

just wanted to let you know i seem to get bad cramps and diarreha immediately following BH contractions too. i think it just has to do with the tightening and makes my stomach really sick. anyway, hope it makes you feel a little better. i seem to get this about once a week- sometimes more. hope you are feeling better!

Hey june buddy.....it's ok to loose some of your plug right now if that is what it was. It'll regenerate itself, which would have been nice for them to tell you. Semen can sort of solidify and get globby if it sits there for a while and s_x can cause the bh. Another way being pregnant makes s_x so fun! lol For the contractions drink a bunch of water, go lay on your left side, and just take a little you time to relax.

ok this is an odd question but newlywed have you had any cold cuts lately? deli meat either from a deli or prepackaged? listeria could cause these symptoms in a pregnant woman.

Hm...well- I had a turkey sandwich the other day that had fresh cut deli meat...but I had that on Monday or Tuesday and I've had these Braxton Hicks and loose stools since Saturday. ???? It would have shown up in my labwork as well...but that all came back normal. :-s

I'm just really frustrated because I don't know why this is happening or whats going on. Yesterday I had more pelvic pressure of and on, uterine tenderness, and in hurt to bend over. No contractions all day, except right abround 8, while i was laying in a recliner at my friends house, I felt more slight pelvic pressure... I got a light backache, and braxton hicks. My stomach started hardening and I started feeling nauseous. I got up, and told my friend to feel my stomach and tell me that wasn't a braxton hicks contraction (she jsut had her second child) and she was suprised at how hard my stomach was. Well, according to that nurse, my "contractions" aren't contractions, its the reaction my bowels are having to the supposed 24 or 48 hour stomach flu I've had since Satruday. So anyway then I went to the bathroom, had a ton of loose stool...felt nauseous and lightheaded for another 15 minutes and went home. Right now I'm having some a couple short shooting pains in my abdomen...er uterus...whatever. I also can feel the baby kick. The shooting pains are closer ot the top of my uterus. I'm glad I have a doctors appt today... maybe they'll have an answer...

newlywed, just explain ALL of this in detail to your doctor. Also have you ever had gall bladder or liver issues? Sometimes pregnancy brings them on and it can cause loose stools and abdominal pain. I don't know about the BH, but being close to the uterus it could all play in together. Just something else you could mention to your doc (ask if you were tested for listeria too just in case).

Dont get mad at me but they might be right. I had what they called a 24-48 hr bug that lasted over 2 weeks. It was that Norwalk virus. I felt fine except for the constant loose stools that made me shake and feel extremely light headed. Do not take immodium though. The doc told me that it will make it stay in your body longer. I had to tough it out and stay near a bathroom for a couple weeks. I was 7 weeks pregnant when I got it and the cramps were horribly unimaginable. I was so scared I was going to lose the baby but it was my bowels contracting not my uterus. Plus he gave me an anti spasm med that is safe for preg to help my poor tummy.
