I had my membranes swept at 39 weeks. I was 4 cm dilated, and that night my son was born---totally healthy and happy! The epidural was a bit strong for me and it took a while to get the feeling back in my legs, which was scary---because I couldn't deliver the baby for a number of hours , since i could not feel anything. I also got some spinal headaches for a few days and hemroids----but all worth it. Anywayone have similar situation/after effects?

well it felt like major cramps when she was checking how dilated I was, and I didn't even notice she was sweeping the mebranes right after, so to me, it was fine. good luck.
