TaceyC...yeah...I totally understand where you're coming from with the not wanting to have your baby in October thing. I feel the SAME WAY. There aren't any November babies in my family as well and I so want for my little girl to have the month to herself...at least for now. My husband and brother in-law have birthdays in October and my mother and father in law have their anniversary. So, I don't want to have to plan her birthday parties around their birthdays and anniversaries...not the DH would have a problem with being bumped out of the way, but still...November would just be easier. Not to mention the closer we get to the end of the month the closer I am to having her ON their days...Oct20, Oct21, and Oct 26th are those "special" days and being that I'm due Nov 8th, there's more of a chance I'll deliver ON one of those days...ugh! But I guess what's important is a happy, healthy little girl.

yes i am due november 11th about 3 weeks ago i went to the doctor and i was dialated to a 3 and now i went in and im down to a 1 why did that happen?

Christy, I'm not sure why that happened, except to say that when we're not pregnant our cervix opens and closes throughout the month depending upon our cycle. Maybe your cervix closed because it's just not time yet. I'm sure everything will be okay and you'll start dilating again when the time is right...how are you feeling otherwise? Have you been having contractions or cramping?

TraceyC- I am supposed to be having a boy.. I hope the doc are right because everything I have is completly boy. The pain in the behind i guess is from the baby dropping and now i have alot of pressure down there.. at least that what the doc says.. I go again tomorrow morning

I am due on the 12th too! This will be my second child... it's a girl. We're going to name her Sophie.

DCRUZ419 - that's pretty weird, i hope your not 26 years old as well - that would be funny lol. --- how is your daughter coping with the new baby coming. mine has kind of been playing up recently but i'm not sure if it's just a growing up phase she's in or whether it's some sort of anxiety thing about the new baby,

TRACYC I ACTUALLY TURNED 27 IN APRIL, SO ITS PRETTY CLOSE. MY DAUGHTER IS ACTUALLY HANDELING THINGS REALLY GOOD, MY FAMILY AND I HAVE ALWAYS SAID MY DAUGHTER IS AN OLD LADY TRAPPED IN A KIDS BODY. SHE IS MORE ON TOP OF THINGS THAN I THINK I AM. SHE IS SO EXCITED ABOUT HAVING A BABY BROTHER AND CANT WAIT TO HELP WITH EVERYTHING. I THINK AS LONG AS YOU KEEP YOUR DAUGHTER INVOLVED SHE SHOULD BE OK.....GOOD LUCK

Hi Dcruz...I'm also due Nov. 8th...but I'm having a girl. I so wanted a girl first because I've heard they are such good caretakers of the siblings that follow in the years to come...and that sounds just like your little girl. Are you having any contractions or cramping? Any signs of the "mucas plug"? My doc said sometimes you'll never even know that it's gone...and she said you can walk around for weeks without it....do you remember that from your first pregnancy? I ask because I think mine has started coming out little by little because I did some some slight red streaking at one point. Well...good luck to you!

tonigirl....yeah i have been having contractions and cramps alot. i lost my mucus plug and had my bloody show(sorry tmi) this past sunday and went to the hospital. the dr told me that he could feel the babies head and i'm beginning to dialate. with my daughter i was dialated 3 centimeters and lost my mucus plug for 3 weeks. i had her a week early. i have been miserable for the past week and so on edge, i'm just ready to have this lil boy....good luck and congrats....girls are a handfull

Ah...Dcruz...I'm sorry you're going through so much. I hope it happens for you soon. I too have been having my own issues over here. Last night I was having a lot of contractions, some cramping and pelvic/pubic type pains. Really they were shooting from my belly b___ton down to the pubic area. I don't know what that could have been. It all stopped by 3am. I didn't even bother going into the ER cuz, I figured it wasn't real labor and I was right. But the doc wants me in today to see if it's possibly a UTI...UGH! I too just feel big and ready to have this baby. Good luck to you. I hope you start feeling better or someting eventful happens. TONIGIRL, THANX.....I WAS AT MY DOCTORS ON TUESDAY AND SHE WANTS ME TO COME BACK ON FRIDAY..SHE DECIDED SHE IS GOING TO SCRAPE ME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK. Dcruz...so we're both due Nov. 8th and we're both hoping for some action sometime soon. I went into the doc yesterday and it wasn't my normal doc and he gave me a really rouch cervical exam, like he stuffed his old, sausage finger way up there all while pressing really hard on my pubic area...did he NOT understand that I went in because i was having pelvic/pubic pain!?!?! He said I was 2cm dilated (so I went up by 1...woohoo) but not thinned at all. Well last night I went to the bathroom and noticed quite a bit of very red blood mixed with like clear stuff...kinda like when you start your period (TMI I KNOW) and then today I've noticed more bleeding, but not as much as last night. So, part of me is wondering if that is the mucas membrane or mucas plug or if that freakin' sausage finger'd old doctor gave me such a rough exam that it made me bleed! I'm guessing it's really the mucas plug. Have you ever heard of the bleeding continuing for more than one episode? I've got a call into MY REAL doctor to find out if that's normal. I'm not having any contractions though, so I'm pretty sure no labor...just small menstral like cramps. Anything new with you? How's that tea working for you? I read in a book that nipple stimulation (like by your husband's mouth) can help dilation because oxytocin is released into the body. Might work...if your nipples aren't that sore. Just pa__sing along something I read in a book. GOOD LUCK! let me know if anything else starts happening for ya! :-)

TONIGIRL, IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT WAS UR MUCUS PLUG. WELL I'VE ONLY BEEN DRINKING ONE CUP OF TEA A NITE, BUT AROUND 4 THIS MORNING I WOKE UP AND THOUGHT I WAS DYING. I HAD THE WORST PAIN EVER, COULNT MOVE OFF THE BATHROOM FLOOR FOR ALMOST 2 MINUTES. I TALKED TO MY DOC TODAY AND SHE SAID TO TIME MY PAIN AND IF THEY ARE 10 MINS APART CALL HER, I HAVENT SLEPT SO I DRANK ANOTHER CUP OF TEA BECAUSE IT HELPS ME SLEEP ALSO. I SEE MY DOC TOM FOR HER TO SCRAPE MY MEMBRANES AND I'M GOING TO ASK HER IF I CAN BE INDUCED BECAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. I HEARD ABOUT THE NIPPLE STIMULATION, BUT UNFORTUNATLEY MY FIANCE IS AWAY UNTIL AUG. HOPEFULLY THAT PAIN WAS THE START OF SOMETHING AND I WILL BE GOING IN SOON. GOOD LUCK

Hey Dcruz...is your fiance in the military? I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this without him. So, your little guy will be nearly one before his daddy meets him. That must be tough. You're a strong lady. I hope you weren't at home alone when you were on the floor in pain. Do you have someone who can be with you during the nights just in case? So, if you're due on the 8th why are you having your membranes sc___ped so soon? Just curious.... I talked to my doc and she said she thinks the rough exam I had sc___ped my membrane some and started the process for me. I go in for my regular appointment tomorrow with my regular doctor so we'll see what she has to say. No real contractions today though...just more bleeding. I hope it was indeed the mucas plug, cuz much like yourseld i'd like to get this party started. Take care of yourself now... :-)

TONIGIRL, ITS REALLY HARD TO BE ALONE FOR ALL THIS BUT ITS ALMOST DONE. I WAS ALONE LAST NIGHT MY MOM LIVES IN JERSEY AND I'M IN PHILADELPHIA. MY DAUGHTER IS VERY ON POINT WITH EVERYTHING BUT BY 9PM SHES ASLEEP. WELL MY DOCTOR DECIDED TO SCRAPE ME TOMORROW BECAUSE I GET VERY BAD ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS AND WITH THE PREGNANCY I CAN NOT TAKE ANY MEDS. I WAS DOING OK UP UNTIL LAST WEEK AND THEN MY ATTACKS GOT REALLY BAD, SO THE DOCTOR DECIDED THAT ITS SAFER FOR THE BOTH OF US IF I HAVE THE BABY. I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES GOOD WITH UR VISIT TOMORROW AND HOPEFULLY SOMETHING WILL BE HAPPENING WITH ME AT MY APPT.....GOOD LUCK
