MissP - September 13

Hi girls, thanks for some of your experiences, which seem to be what my friends have all told me, some horrendous ones and some saying it was all over quick - i just wish i knew which way i would go so i could decide about epidurals and c-secs etc...oh well, il discuss it all next thurs morning and then i guess my consultant will help me decide. JOEBY321 - Ok let me tell you briefly what ive been thru with the whole low fluid thing and maybe itll make you feel a bit better. At 18wks i went in for a scan and they told me id lost a lot of fluid, it was measuring 10cm, whereas on the 15wk scan thered been loads...25cm or more apparantly. I didnt have any leekages that i could remember so they instantly a__sume theres something wrong with the babys urinary tract or kidneys - sent me for weekly scans from that point and told me to prepare myself - when it happens that early a lot of babies dont make it. I was so upset and stressed, having just had a 12wk loss bfore this pregnancy. Anyway, there were no problems with the baby on all the scans theyve done and fluid stayed constant at 10 for a few more weeks, made it to 23wks and it started going down, went to 7cm and then by 25 it was down to 4cm and they told me id be lucky to get to 30wks. Anything from 5cm downwards is cla__sed as critical....well i rested and drank pints and pints of water - i had been since 18wks anyway and i just prayed and hoped for the best for my little boy. I got to 30 weeks! and they said there was some more fluid, it went up to 6cm and by 33 it was back up to 10. I was so relieved. Anyway, at my last scan it was down again to 6cm, but the problem is that theres supposed to be 4pockets of fluid distributed around the sack and i only have 2 which are both low down near his head, so no fluid at all in the top 3/4 of my bump, poor guy cant hardly move, so thats why there going to bring him early. Also theres an issue with my placenta, which is another reason! So my advice to you would be, yes drink water til you feel like its going to come out of your ears, and rest up as much as you can, and try not to worry (which i know is not easy). Im 37weeks today and i really prepared myself for him coming since 21weeks, thats what they told me would happen. I hope your little one hangs in there and stays in as long as possible!! Anyway, once your past the 34weeks stage which you are more or less, then if he comes he'll probably be fine, just a teeny little version. Sending you some positive vibes!! x x x

MissP, as I read your story again I just can't believe you've made it this far after everything. I'm just so happy for you. DH's birthday is monday and I wrapped one of the presents and it says To Daddy from Baby, can't wait to meet you! Too bad I couldn't have the baby on monday! That would make a nice gift!

ejmeskan - September 13

Happy Birthday on Monday Bob! That's cute! MissP- Wow!!! Britt- that's exciting!!! I had my 35 week check...my next appt is a week from Monday - he will do an internal, check the position of the babe, and do my Group B- nasty!! I am measuring 33 weeks so that is good...no u/s unless I don't gain a lb between now and next week...which I will I am sure! He said that is the babe isn't head down at 36 weeks they will schedule the external version for the week after...that made it a little more real for me because I could technically have the babe that day if he/she doesn't react well to the version. But overall nothing big...I am sure the babe will turn and I will go 42 weeks! hahaha! :)

Patience2008 - September 14

Hey everybody. I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore. I have a horrible cold again and yesterday I thought I might be going into labor because the baby was smashing into my pelvis and bottom so bad that I could hardly walk! Plus my dh is working all kinds of crazy training shifts and its just been one of those weeks. I want this baby out but I do not feel ready at all! O.K thats my vent for the day. On the other hand, despite feeling miserable yesterday we went to the apple orchard and had a really good time! How is everyone else...this is a quiet sunday.

Saird - September 14

Patience I hear ya. I'm trying to do some cleaning and the baby feels like it's so low I can hardly walk. Shooting pains and the bottom thing. Goodness it's hard to get anything done. I wondered where everyone was as well...maybe they are all having their babies and it's just us left!!

babywish - September 14

Hi all. I have been following this thread, but haven't yet posted. I am 31 yrs old, due Oct 18th with my first child. I have been on bedrest since June due to thinning cervix and have been on Nifedipine to control my contractions. I am now 35 weeks, not bad considering they weren't expecting me to make it past 26 weeks. I'm on modified bedrest now, so I can go places for a little while anyway. This summer sucked, spent it pretty much in front of my computer, on the couch or sitting at my picnic table, but in the end it will all be worth it. I just did my registry for my shower, I was going to have it AFTER she's born, but everyone was bugging me to have it and I finally gave in. It didn't dawn on me that I will be 37 weeks by the time I have the shower, not sure if she's gonna hang in there that long. I hope so, but we'll see. If i'm not there my mom is gonna be there in my place. I really hope I will be able to attend. ANyway, any of you ladies have any suggestions on how to shave my legs? I asked my husband to shave them for me but he's scared to cut me and if I bend down to do it, I get contractions. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Saird - September 14

Hi Babywish! I'm sorry but that's funny about shaving your legs. I feel like a gymnast these days. Maybe book a pedicure and ask them to do your legs as well? LOL. I honestly have no other ideas. Do you have a sister or mom or friend that would feel braver than a husband would? I asked my husband to cut my toenails and he didn't even want to do that!

ejmeskan - September 15

Aryanna-I hope Bob is having a nice day today on his b-day! Welcome babywish...hilarious about the shaving! I am due on the 18th too!!!! I got a huge burst yesterday and I now have everything done! Well about 98% of everything! ha! I have Jacob's stuff packed for a middle of the night race to the sitter, I have the babe's stuff packed, and all of my and Aaron's stuff (we live 3 min from the hospital so mostly Aaron's!) I know I am only 35weeks 3 days but I just got the urge as I shopped for it all yesterday. I can't believe we are already at this stage....Patience you only have 2 weeks right?

Patience2008 - September 15

Yep, I am 38 wks tomorrow. I went for a walk today, I only did a 2 mi walk instead of 3 mi. The BH are driving me crazy. I had 2 real contractions this morning. I really need to wait for my parents to get here (2 days before Im due), but I dont want to. Im getting too anxious. Im just not going to do any thing to self induce (except keep walking). That way I dont have to feel like its my fault if he comes a little early!

ejmeskan - September 15

Haha- that's funny Patience! But I can see why you would want to wait...do you have a back up plan if they aren't here in time?

minnesotamommyof3 - September 15

hello ladies, I have been reading the board but first time posting here. My due date for baby number three is oct 19th. Oh boy do I hear you about BH and rib and ack pain OUCH!! I know a few of you are moms of more than one so my question is were you early with your 22nd 3rd 4th baby? everyone keeps saying they doubt I will make it to the 19th but both of my girls were born within days of the due date. And for those ladies who had people telling them they were so big, I get the opposite, I get told I am not big at all which really bugs me too I feel like a beached whale or I swallowed a watermelon. hope everyone is having a good monday and gets some real sleep tonight

ejmeskan - September 15

Hi MN Mommy- Welcome!! I am sure you already saw this but I live in MN as well, I am due on Oct 18th and have been told I am too small too!! :) A lot in common!

britt_m - September 15

Hi ladies! Welcome Babywish and MNMommy!! Things are still hanging in there for me, I think I'll make all the way to the end. I think I had the preterm issues just b/c of the major stress going on. After dropping cla__ses and not watching other kids everyday, getting our finances sorted and a few other things figured out things have felt better. I still have BH and a couple strong contractions each day but I think its safe to say its normal now. I'm also measuring small as thats why I get an ultrasound and monitering every week, he is fine though. ejmeskan - I have most of it packed too! I'm even due after you, on the 22nd, haha! You just never know when something could just happen tho.

joeby321 - September 15

Hi everyone. Wow we are moving right along aren't we? Well I went to the doctor again today for my fetal monitoring (they have now put me up to twice a week) and they have yet again given me another diagnosis. Now they have given me something called "Oligohydramnios" which is low amniotic fluid. Last week my level was at 6.9 and now I am 6.3 I am drinking as much as I can and I am resting pretty much all day so I just don't know what else I can do. I have also for the past 2 days been having really bad cramping in my stomach so they are watching me for preterm labor. They kept me on the monitoring machine for an extra 15 min today to see if I as having any contractions but thankfully I wasn't. I will be 31 weeks tomorrow and my C-Section date is Oct. 28th (37 weeks) but if things keep going they way they are, the doctors doubt I will make it that long. I am trying to stay calm and not panic but I am so worried that my son will be born too early. I'm sorry to vent I just know you all understand. Thanks for listening and any advice is greatly appreciated.

DESTINY - September 15

HI ALL, I posted here months ago, probably when we were all about 3 months along, but with the 4 kids I already have in the house I ran out of time. I am so ready to get this baby out already. I have been dilated to a three for about 2 weeks now and still nothing. BH all the time, but really nothing more. I have a ten month old now who has been keeping me really busy, he has already been walking for almost 2 months now and is climbing furniture now, so I am always on my toes. My two year old is always picking on him. You think that stress alone would put me into labor.lol. Well I hope all of you are doing well. I am ready to get this labor started.
