DEFINITELY call your doctor. I went thru the same thing, I wasn't really sure if my water broke or not, so I went in to my doctor's office so she could determine it and she sent me on to the hospital, because, indeed, my water had broke! I know what you mean. This was with my first child, and I was so eager for him to be here while I was pregnant, but once labor was imminent, I was scared! You feel like you want to "run away", but where are you going to go? LOL, your belly is coming with you! Good luck and don't worry, you'll look back on this fondly!

ive just come from the hospital, i woke up wondering if i had wet myself during the night or if it was my waters, i rang maternity a__sessment nd explained to them nd they asked me to come down. turns out it wasnt my waters after all but just discharge as my cervix is thinning out the discharge is more runny now instead of thick like it was. think its best to give them a call just to be on the safe side hun. gud luck nd let us know what they say. ;=) xx

Yes yes call your doctor and they will either have you come into the office to have an amnio strip test or go to labor and delivery for that. You don't want it to be your water and get and infection or no amnio left for the baby, walking around like that. You will feel better knowing for sure too. Never think your being a pest because I did the same thing too and if I didn't be precautious then I could have had my baby at home. Good luck and I hope its the real deal, YEAH!

Cher I had the same problem too and it was just my cervix thinning out but I didn't want it to be my water and be sitting at home while baby was sitting with no amnio. So I took the chance to be told that it was or wasn't my amnio. Better safe than sorry right?

I did call and they said since it had stopped to lay on my left side for an hour and when i get up if i have a leak or puddle then it sounds like it may be it. i did that and when i stood back up it was nothing- i put my panties in the dryer and it did smell like pee so maybe just maybe i wet myself. It seems like the more kegels i do the more loose my muscles become. I have been barely making it to the bathroom lately so.... now that i read your opinions i think i may need to call again and just be checked. I will call in the morning for sure but shouldn't i feel something else like contractions or something by now. It's been over 12 hours?

Hey I had the same, and it was my waters leaking, mines was kind of yellowy/greeny in colour but it still didnt stop me thinking I had peed myself and it smelled of urine too! I phoned L&D I described the colour and they knew it was meconium so told me to come in and I had to be induced. You may as well go in to be checked out, Goodluck

There is a strip test they can do .....just wear the same panties to the hospital and they can test to see if your water really has broke. This happened to me. I was leaking a little one morning and i sneezed and had a little trinkle. I got up to go to the bathroom and it kept trinkling.....it wouldnt stop- so then i knew it was that ! I hopped in the shower, threw on a pad and headed to L&D !

The same thing happened to me today. I crouched down to help my son with something and felt a big gush. It wasn't a huge amount, but enough that it leaked through to my pants. I called the hospital and they told me to come in, but it turns out it was just watery discharge. There was another woman there who had exactly the same thing, so don't worry about getting it checked out. It seems to happen all the time, and better safe than sorry!

Trust me on this, you will know when your water breaks. there is no questioning it. I have had my water leak as well... the best way to describe it is you know when you are at the beginning of your period and you feel that gush of blood coming out? Thats what it feels like when your water is leaking. If you are nervous about it they will have you go into the hospital and they do a swab test on you to see if it is amniotic fluid. If i were you I would walk around, stretch out and see if maybe that will cause it to actually break. Also, when your water breaks it doesnt just happen once, you will gush our fluid every 45 min or so. But if you just woke up with damp underwear i would say that You are just leaking discharge. I would request the test to see for sure. My water broke at 35 weeks with my ds. I was for sure it wasn't my water and thought it was just discharge when I woke up. I didn't have gushing and it wasn't a constant trickle. After my mom and husband forcing me to go to the doctor he tested me and sure enough it was my water. Once your water breaks they want you to deliver within 24 hours or at least be monitored because of infection. I did not start contracting at all afterwards. They had to start pitocin to induce my contractions. I had my son the next morning. Good Luck! Let us know what happens!!

When i called Saturday morning they didn't seem to cocerned being as though it had been 24 hours and nothing happened since then-no trickle etc. I really think i wet myself. It really smelled of pee and i have been soo close to wetting myself lately. I probably dreamed i was on the toilet or something, well i had an appt already scheduled for today and the dr didn't think it was necessary to check me- he said i probably wet myself- hb was fine, measurements not contractions etc so he didn't think it was necessary. I pray he is right but i don't feel like anything is wrong- mommy intuition.....thankfully he's still moving and shaking as usual so....maybe it was just pee. If i felt something may be wrong then i would press the issue and insist but it's just so hard sometimes when you put your trust in the dr's and believe they know what they are doing. I think since it was just once that it was just pee or maybe a watery discharge as some others have stated. thanks for all your advice.
