6 Weeks Pregnant

I hope you didn't think that I thought that having a c-section was an easy way out. I had an emergency c-section too and I went through an absolutely hellish 27 hour labour and 2 month recovery only 1 year ago. I was only cracking a joke about being thankful for having a c- section this time. I find the only people who have comments on sections being the easy way out are people who have never had a scare or emerg. during delivery or have never had the painful and long recovery from major abdominal surgery. Easy for them to say when they've never been through it. Everyone I have ever seen patients, friends, family who have delivered v____ally have felt great at about 4 days past delivery. Yeah they have a sore perinneum but they can sit up walk with ease and lift their new bundle up. I have yet to see a c-section mommy do this at 3 or 4 days past delivery. Very, Very rare unless you are a tough cookie or you had a booked ceasarian w/o labour and even then it is far more painful than a vag delivery will ever be. Don't let people bother you . you are making a sound decision for your child and yourself, and are not taking an easy way out! Rupture is extremely dangerous if it happens and it's like playing russian roulette, you never can tell if it will happen or not.

Gemma good idea to let your mid wife know, I guess at that point in pregnancy your scar is just stretched to the max and It's probably sore. Have you ever heard if you can have a rupture just from your scar being stretched? I've thought about it and have never come across patients or friends who have had this, even my obs at the hospital has never heard of it but I don't know that I'd rule it out, especially if your babies were close together..

gemma - November 25

i believe your chances of a rupture go up when ya in labour but i have heard of people who have had them befor going into labour, the sign that they had had a rupture was bleeding from the v____a. also at the hostpital they said the closer your pregnancies r the greater chance and i dnt like the sound of that, as i personaly know someone who had a 4 yr gap and still had a rupture.

gemma - November 25

i go the hostpital in 3 weeks to tell them how i would like to deliver, i think i will actually miss the labour pains if i book a c section it does all seem a bit strange just going in having a op then there is a baby, ii think a pre booked c section will be quite a different experience from a emergancy one., also the reason i had a sec last time was cos of the babys heart rate dropping and i wasnt dialiating fast enough i was sort of stuck on 5 cm and apparently that cud happen again.

jj - November 25

this is my 3rd baby ime 38 weeks now and very scared of doing it v____ally again has last time i had a bad experience and gemma ur very brave having a c sec i would be terrified good luck to you

you know it's funny , I have always had numbness and tenderness all around where the scar is and the last 2 weeks it's been achier than usual. I asked my own ob as opposed to my collegues at work and my doc said that was very indicative of a scar that is still not 100 percent healed. It would be ok if I wasn't expecting but even even at this stage it's starting to bother me and I never thought it would. My doc said that is exactly what kind of signs indicate a rupture either prematurely or during labour so now they are going to watch closely especially with the size of my last child and what they anticipate this one to be and also because it's only been a year. So I guess any thought I might of had for a vbac is shot. I don't really care about anything but the babies health but I had such a lousy recovery last time and got such bad depression from it I'm just so nervous...Hope everyone is well

gemma - November 26

my scar too has felt different not painful but prob like u describe just like a dull ache its not allmthe time just the odd occasion when i stand up from sitting or lying down so i think a c section will be the best option i also had a quite big baby he was 8. 12 that was just 12 months ago.

When is everyone due? Is anyone nervous/excited? Is anyone having multiples? Do we have any christmas or new years babies? Anyone trying any unconventional birthing methods? Hope all is well for evryone...

I am also 5 weeks and my belly is is also bloated and sticking out. I have not experienced morning sickness yet but my b___sts are very sore. I go through different stages of being tired, moody, sad, happy and uncomfortable. My face is also breaking out, mainly near my mouth.

Laura - November 26

I haven't noticed any weight gain yet, but my b___bs are definately bigger and very sore. I haven't had any sickness yet either - maybe its all to come. It is nice to read about other women with the same everyday worries as me!!

Rachelle - November 26

Laura, is this your first child? I am also very glad to see that I am not going through this alone and that we all have the same worries?
