Overweight And Pregnant Question

I don't know how far I am yet, becuase my last period (in May) was SO light that now I'm thinking it wasn't a period at all... And the tests are showing VERY dark lines immediatly, so my hormone level is pretty high. I guess I'm probably 5 or 9 weeks? I'm seeing the doctor in a week and 2 days. I weigh a lot, 233. My high was 285 in October 06 so I have dropped 50 pounds since then, with about 7 being in the past month, which is scarring me now. I was doing Weight Watchers, so I was eating pretty healthy, but now I'm worried about the weight I lost before I knew. And I'm also worried how I will keep my gain to only 15 pounds! No one I know has done that, but to keep the baby healthy and reduce it's risk for problems later in life that is what I need to do. Any advice would be appriciated. I already started a new food idary and am tracking fruits.veggies, calories, fat, calcium, and protien as well as a daily morning weight so I can show my doctor when I go...

I am overweight and my last pregnancy I ate alot of fruits and vegitables. I did not gain a whole lot of weight but just try to continue to eat right. You will be all right.

I ate pretty good this past pregnancy and drank lots of water, walked lots, chased my 3 kids around when I could, and ate the right food and right amount and still gained over 50 Ibs!. i dont mean to scare you put sometimes you put on the weight no matter what you do, I was around 200 to start the pregnancy and ended at over 255+ ibs. My son is 5 weeks and im 215 Ibs and im still recovering from a 4th csection. my feelings are just eat right do what you can with exercise and, I know this is hard, try not to get too upset if you gain more weight than you would like because you can always lose the weight afterwards and only 1 chance of eating right during pregnancy. I have heard horror stories of women dieting and starving themselves during pregnancy to keep the weight lose down, Im not saying you will but thats why I say what I say about losing weight afterwards and doing what you can during pregnancy. the best of luck to you and congrads on the baby and the tremendous weight loss :)

You really only need an extra 300 calories a day for a healthy pregnancy and those should come from things like fruit, dairy, lean meat, etc so there really isn't a need to go off a healthy diet plan, just add 300 calories to your existing plan.

Congratulations on losing the weight with WW!!! Look at it this way: you now know that you can lose weight with the WW program - if you put it on during this pregnancy, you KNOW you can get lose it after. Also momma3tobe is right about only actually needing a little more food. Good luck!
