Sick As A Dog And No Medication

I have been trying to get through this terrible cold for the last two weeks now - with the result of a ever painful cough that keeps me up at night. And disturbs any activities during the day because I am either knackered from no sleep- or cant't hold a conversation without constant interuption.
Mydoc tells me paracetamol only - my sis (3kids) tells me rest... but I am struggling. I am in real pain.
Anyone out there that has experience with homeopathy ? Any tips or advise ?
