So, I hit my second trimester and my doctor had me stop my progesterone cream cold turkey. No tapering off. I'm terrified because I don't want to come this far and start bleeding because of my progesterone level. I haven't had any abnormal cramping other than the usual stretching pains and I haven't had any spotting, but I'm wondering if I'm worrying for nothing. I had an appointment on the 13th and we heard the heartbeat and the doctor said that everything seemed fine to her. I just didn't understand what she was saying about the progesterone levels and the baby and stuff. Someone please tell me if this sounds right. The baby at 14 weeks needs so much progesterone to sustain the pregnancy that if it isn't producing it on its own, the amount in the progesterone supplement would not be enough to sustain it. Sound right? Like maybe if the baby wasn't producing the progesterone on its own by now I would start spotting even if I was on the supplements? *sigh* I hate being so scared.

Hi Teddy...I see that nobody answered your question so I'll take a stab at it lol I am on prometrium for low protesterone and my doc said that once I get pregnant to continue taking it for 3 months. He said that it's ok to stop taking it b/c the placenta (sp) takes over after that. Hope this helps...if you don't mind me asking, what were you taking progesterone for? have a healthy and happy pregnancy!!
