I am in my fourth pregnancy and i have never lost a blood stained show. For a lot of people, and myself, it appears as a discharge with the consistency of jelly and can be clear or creamy. Also you may notice this weeks prior to your actual labour. x Mia

i'm 37 weeks and just lost my mucous plug today and it's my 2nd pregnancy. It doesn't have to be red or brown, it also can look like green snot to be exact and can be the size of a penny or nickel even! Later on today, i've experienced more braxton hicks pains and cramping like a period.Plus i'm 100% effaced. I think I may be on my way!

im 23 weeks today and believe to have lost my plug.... What does this mean? This is my 3rd child..

With both my previous kids and this pregnancy (now at 33 weeks0 the MP has come out mostly stringy at times and generally white o off white sometimes yellow. With my first child I was dilated 3 cm and 50% effaced a month to the day before i had her...starting at 35 weeks. Overtime the discharge changed from white to an old blood pinkish brown color. The amount of brownish pink continued getting darker and darker and sometimes the MP would come out in more glops. The day I had her I was "uncomfortable" and fidgety all day so I went to the grocery store and stocked up on frozen foods and easy to make meals with lots of warm showers for the pain. My contractions when they started were 7-10 minutes apart and irregular so i waited until they were 4-5 minutes apart. About that time I saw bright red blood when I wiped and immediately left for the hour trek to the hospital after donning a pad and putting a garbage sack over the seat just in case my water broke. I had her 3 hours later after breaking my waters when I was fully dilated and effaced. With my second, I never got the bright red show of fresh blood. My water partially broke 2 and a half hours before my son was born. Only after I got to the hospital did I realize that there was also blood in the pad. With him the MP never became super dark in color with brown or pink but at most changed from white to a light light brown over time. Usually it was stringy but as I got closer to time to have him it was sometimes more like gloppy snot always gelatinous. With him I was dilated 5cm and 30% effaced roughly a month or so before having him. I always have natural deliveries without medication since I have them so quickly but found labor much more intense without the bag of waters fully intact. Here is my advice: Most of your mucous plug questions can wait until your next weekly appointment where you can tell your doctor or midwife that your discharge has changed or that you think you may have lost your plug and describe the color to him/her and address any questions and concerns you may be having. If you have a slow trickle or gush of watery like discharge go ahead and call your doctor as your bag of waters may have broke (there is a test they can do to see if your water broke if you do not feel you are in labor - I have had the test done and it is nothing more intrusive than a typical exam and a swab). If you ever see bright red fresh blood again call your doctor or midwife as this is a bloody show that can mean delivery is imminent. If you think you have lost your plug WAIT until regular office hours or until your next appointment as it is not an emergency or sign of actual labor. It can be a time of exitement because you know you are one step closer to having your baby in that your body is doing what it should be and yet it could still be weeks before you deliver. im 36 weeks today an i lost my plug.this is only 36 weeks,is my baby going to be ok?

To too with 2 of 3 of my kids had Clear stringy, like heavy discharge when lost my plug. You can tell the difference... This time around I lost it at 22 weeks. My first son I los it about 35-38 weeks. I'm a little worried this time around.

I'm 38 weeks and 5 days today. I think I just lost a piece of my mucous plug. I had an internal exam this morning because I thought I was in labor. I am only 1cm and 60% effaced. I was not in labor, and they sent me home. Anyway, I thought the substance was just the lube jelly they use to do the exam. But after reading the other postings, I don't think so. My discharge was yellowish/white, and very thick. Like a big booger, and it was about the size of the first joint on my pinkie. It didn't smell funny, and there was NO red or brown. If nothing else come out, I will wait until my next doctor's appt in two days to let my doctor know.

i am 36 weeks and my mucus plug came out this morning. So I am anticipating to go to the hospital today or tomorrow because when i was pregnant for the first time, my plug pa__sed in the morning at 9:00 and had my daughter the next morning at 11:49. All I did was walk all day long and it seemed to make my labor and contractions start. So i plan to do the same today.

I lost mine at 30 weeks and there was no bloody show, just a ball of greenish/yellow mucous.

ya i lst my mucous plug 2day and im 2 days over due..but it was only yellowish..like really thick snots.and no there was no bloody show at all..but i've been havein cramps feeling and just a lil pressure..so hopefully i'll have my baby whiten 2days:D..

I AM 38 WEEKS AND MY DISCHARGE IS A THICK, STICKY, YELLOWISH COLOR. IS THAT MY MUCUS PLUG?

Mine is clear right now (4 days from due date) but I imagine it will get tinged later on. It's thick.. like.. that skimmy part or old jello. (YAY for never eating that again!) heh

Is 70% effaced good? how long for labor if i am 70%?

I lost my mucous plug yesterday afternoon and i am 40 weeks and 2 days how far am i from labor

I lost mine 2 or 3 days ago, HOW MUCH LONGER haha.

I'm 30 wks 4days, I lost my MP last night, should I be concerned? This is my 2nd pregnancy, I was 2 wks late with my first, and lost the MP the night before I had him. I'm 50% effaced too.
