What is brown discharge?

I have been on BC since i was 18 and im 23 now. I had s_x on friday night and on sunday i was 4 hours late on taking my pill. I normally take it at 7am when i wake up for work. When i went to the bathroom later in the evening on sunday i noticed i had some light blood along with a normal color discharge. Yesterday, when i woke up the discharge was brown and today i wiped after using the bathroom and it was heavy and brown. can ANYONE tell me what this is.. Pretty much i have been discharging brown and have cramps.. I dont start for 2 weeks and im always on time with my periods. I also went to the doctor about a month ago for a colostpy (sp?) and they said all was fine. So does anyone have any insight to what this could be? cramping and brown discharge?

I started my period one day late and it lasted for5 days. it seem regular to me heavy the first 2 days and light the rest. but two days after I had s_x w/ my partner and after I notice that I was spotted. that sunday night had s_x again and notice the same thing. it went away and the next day I notice brown discharge . I'm not understanding HELP!

I have the same thing I am 11 weeks today. They said it is old blood. But if it were to turn pink or red call the doctor right away

im 3-4 weeks pregnant and i am having a brown coloured period slight period pains too but its not has painful as a period pain

Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant and am having atery brown discharge that is only really noticable when I wipe. I have had an early scan that showed a heartbeat so I thought that things were ok. I have a few days when everything seems fine then a day when I get this brown stuff. I just can't stand the disappointment each time I get it. I am just hoping that everything is ok

Why do you discharge?

Well I am told that it early on it could be implantation bleeding and later on in the 1st trimester it could be something to do with increased blood flow to the cervix. I guess it could be the beginnings of a miscarraige but I am trying not the think about that. The fact that it has happened on and off since I found out I was pregnant and I have since had a scan that showed all was well is giving me hope. But I guess you will never know. I will have my fingers crossed for the next few months.

To Morgan~ This is very normal. I was on BC for years, and if I didn't take the pill when I normally did, or if I skipped a day, a few days later I would spot sometimes even later that day as you did. Your body is so used to you taking it at a certain time, and if it don't receive it, it will react this way. I would not worry about it.

I'm 17, a Senior and Cheerleader at my High School. Me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected s_x (bad i know...:(..) but, the last time we did, i had a brownish red discharge. it scared me and him. I had my period about 2 weeks ago, everything was normal. I'm wondering why am i having this brownish discharge?... it's been a couple days now... It's there mainly when i wipe. hi im 5 to 6 weeks pregnant and expierincing very bad cramps like a period but no bleeding yesterday i had a little brown drop or 2 but nothing but a CLEAR discharge what does this mean ??has anyone else had this??

Kathy, I was told that it can be normal to get cramps and that the brown stuff is just implantation bleeding - good luck and fingers crossed. To MQ, shame on you using a website where people are genuinely concerned about losing their babies to publicise your new website ......

Hi Kelli, I have the same problem right now too! Im 19 and on the pill, me and my bf sometimes use condoms, sometimes not. My problem is exactly the same as yours! Im a little worried now, finding this site when I typed in the description in the search engine.... Could both me and Kelli be pregnant??

Hey Lee, I'm a little relieved to see someone is in the exact position as me. Because other's on this site are already preg. talking about the brown discharge. I just need to know, if you're not yet diagnosed preg. if this could be a sign. I've never heard of brown discharge being one, but lately it seems it's more and more common. Thing is, about a year ago i was on the depo shot. I discontinued and went to the pill. For the past 3 1/2 months, i've been inconsistant with the pill. So that's my bad choice, but... i'm wondering if it's all catching up to me and this discharge is actually the real thing?? :(... I'll take on responsibility if so, but until then.. someone help me with my worries. PLEASE. good luck to you Lee.
