I said that you high and mighty people should not be coming at the girl like that, she only asked a question. I did not say that you are wrong to say that someone should not use drugs while being pregnant. I DID NOT SAY THAT. What I said is that you should answer the questions, and not insult people. Do you really think that anyone is going to listen to what you have to say when you are saying it in insults? NO, just answer the question and she'll be much more likely to listen. That's the problem witha lot of people today they don't know how to give advice without being rude! Trashy people? Do you even know me? No, you don't. I am far from trashy!

I smoked weed all throughout my pregnancy. I was 18 when my son was born. He was completely healthy, not underweight. He had no signs of being slow. He is now 5 and I am having to deal with ADHD. He is very smart, he is just unable to concentrate, sit still or follow simple directions. He has problems with short term memory. I haven't smoked for like 2 years now, it just isn't part of my lifestyle anymore. I constantly blame myself for his behavioral problems, and knowing that I could've prevented all of this is heartwrenching. If I could do it all over again, I would not smoke pot while I was pregnant. If you are pregnant, why take the risk? Sure, your baby could be just fine, but if there is a chance that they might not be, why take it? Don't you want only the best for your child? Why do they deserve any less? Pot while pregnant = BAD.

Doesn't watching TV cause ADD too?

crystal...watch out...they will test you, and if you admit to the use, CPS will make your life hell. The doctors can be sneaky and arrogant in a__suming they are the only ones who know what is best....i am right now fighting CPS because i admit to using 1.5 grams a week to help deal with bi-polar schitzophrenia..(i have done over 20 different combinations of bi-polar meds to no avail, and even ended up seriously hospitalized over the last combo) That is when a friend recommended marijuana to me, and since that day, it's worked so well, i never looked back. Now i am pregnant, and i have been honest and open about my use..but they still think they somehow "know" how i feel, better than myself...(rolling eyes)...I have asked for Marinol, to no avail, but yet they still insist on putting me back onto the medication that years ago stopped my life indefinately for nearly 2 to 3 years. The first thing you must do is gather research...know your risks and benefits, ask yourself why you're truly using the drug, and you must PROVE that the benefits outweigh the risks to your baby.......you must prepare now if you plan to take this battle all the way. I plan to prove that bi-polar medications do not have statistical background informations to be proven "safe" for pregnancy...and that their guess is about as good as mine as to treatment options for this disease. Get a midwife or some other doctor, because there are some who will work against you, instead of with you.... Of course we want to do the least amount of risk to the baby, but until that baby is out of your body, you need to do what's also got the least amount of risk for yourself. Get ready for a fight, because even if your doctor doesn't catch you during the pregnancy, they will test the baby for drugs after it is born...and the minute it's positive for THC is the minute CPS (child protective services) will be on your tail. I get to find out on Monday if i have to gain a lawyer to argue medicinal necessity.....but i will fight....my life is finally where i needed it to be, and i'll be d__ned if the government is going to come in and tell me what is right for me and my child. Keep the faith girl....and try to find a less harmful way then smoking....the really negative effects that are proven, is low birth weight, and that's because of the carbon monoxide. The rest is mere speculation. Take heart, and protect yourself.... Sincerely, Sarah As for the rest of you....each individual has their own unique reactions to medications.....regardless if you think a particular medication would be beneficial to yourself, remember that others out here aren't you, and have needs of their own. Of course we all want to have healthy babies, but we also want to surive because if we don't, neither DOES the baby. Show some compa__sion...you never know, you could be pa__sing judgement on a situation that has extinuating circ_mstances. Thanks again, Sarah

I know of several people who have smoke marijauna while pregnant, because it is a cure for morning sickness. I only know of one who continued to smoke quite heavy after her fifth month. Her baby is now 7 years old and does not have any learning dissabilities. I teach children with dissabilities and learning problems and none of their parents did drugs. I would not want to take any chances with my child's life though.

A friend of my sister's smoked it throughout her pregnancy. Her baby is only about two now, but he shows no signs of being anything short of a healthy, lively, smart little tot! Her doctor told her that smoking weed was better than smoking cigs or drinking~ she was going to do it anyway so she told her dr.

I have heard that smoking cigarettes is worse that smoking mj also. It is weird how mj is banned in the U.S, but smoking cigarettes filled with tar, embalming fluid, nicotene, and other harmful substances are legal. I guess since the government can tax cigarettes they do not care about the extra health risks. If you ask me, if you need to smoke, it is a lot healthier to smoke mj than cigarettes whether you are pregnant or not.

is an early period a sign of pregnancy? i woke up today feeling quite sick, and was urinating a lot throughout the early afternoon. Are these signs of pregnancies? Or am i just going through something different?

My nephew's mom smoked pot through her pregnancy and he doesn't show any problems now, but he was a terrible baby. He CRIED ALL the time. I would guess it to be withdrawals. Why would any mother want to make the first months with a new baby harder than it already is.

to Ronni - July 31

You think you smoke pure mj. You might if you grow it. However, most of the commercial stuff has chemicals that are even worse than the ones you mentioned, but then again if you are a true mj smoker you should know that.

ronni - July 31

I don't smoke mj, cigarettes, or drink. I have enough problems and do not need the ha__sle. Everything that damages your body and brain has additives. My point is that the two main drugs that are damaging to your body are legal. They just happen to be alcohol and cigarettes. If you look up the side affects on cigarettes versus mj in pregnancy I can guarantee you there are more side affects with cigarettes.
