when i ask anyone about this i just keep getting different answers does anyone know the correct answer about this after you ovulate and the egg enters the fallopian tube does it just sit and wait for it to get fertilized or as soon as it enters it starts moving towards the uterus and on it's way it gets fertilized

The fimbriae at the end of fallopian tube reach out and pluck an egg from the ovary, and then the egg is swept down the fallopian tube by the cilia. The egg must meet up with a sperm during this journey, which is why it is only good for 24 hours. It does not sit sround waiting for sperm, though sperm can sit around for 5 days waiting for an egg. i was wandering if anyone knew how long it takes for an egg once it's released to reach and enter the fallopian tube i know when it's fertilized it takes 12-24 hours but this would take less time than that i was just curious is all i know ovulation and fertilization happens the same day i heard my friend say it took 6-12 hours for the egg to enter the fallopian tube but i don't think that's right because the doctor said it takes 10 hours after ovulation for it to be fertilized and that it happens in the fallopian tube i was just curious as how long it took an egg after it was released to reach and enter the fallopian tube

because it has to take a certain amount of time to enter the fallopian tube because it has to enter the fallopian tube for it to get fertilized i do know that much i do know after the ovary releases the egg it takes some time to reach the fallopian tube and enter it because all of this goes together i'm sorry if i sound mean and hateful but this is the only way i know how to explain it sohas to
