Actually, it's not - talk to your doctor - they will tell you it is not good as it causes bacteria rather then flush it out.

Douching is NOT GOOD, especially while preggo. It can force bacteria up into the uterus, where you or baby could get a very bad infection. That would probably mean bye-bye baby. If you are concerned about smell, wash your perineal(v____al) area with a mild soap(one that doesn't have dyes or harsh fragrances), and talk to your doc. You may have a yeast infection(VERY common while preggo) or it could just be the changing hormones. Don't risk the baby's health! Good luck!

Andie said it... Douching while pregnant is a BIG no no... in fact, doctors recommend against douching at all... it flushes out not only the undesireable stuff, but the healthy bacteria that is needed in the v____a... acutally causing MORE of a problem.

That is correct. Inside the v____a exists a tenuous balance of good bacteria and yeast. Douching, especially with vinegar products, will cause the bacteria to die leaving a yeast infection in it's wake. These are never fun, and certainly less so during pregnancy. The can also be harder to get rid of. I would advise you to consult your OB if this is something she feels she needs to do.
