If My Wife Wants Me With Her When She Is Being Checked

to see if shes in labor. she told me she don't even want to be checked if i'm not there to hold her hand til it's over
she asked me to talk to them and they told me i had to wait til she was already checked to come. and she told me she's not going to let them check her if i'm not holding her hand.
she almost full term labor and when she went to get check 2 days ago they kicked me out the room and i was more calm then any one there even the doctors it made her upset and it bothered me that it made her upset but i was just looking for some info so thanks
