Usually in the late afternoon and evening after my son eats he gets really fussy nothing seems to calm him down and then after a couple of hours he stops crying. He is on Similac advanced and I am wondering if I should change his formula?

What is his nap schedule? I had made the mistake of keeping my daughter up too long in the afternoon/evening, which made her really fussy - I added another nap, and it worked like a charm. I think, before switching formulas on him, see if maybe there's another factor involved. Also, if it is gas, lay him on his tummy - the pressure will help. I give my daughter her tummy time immediately after her meals - she's awake enough to enjoy it, and it does help with gas issues.

He wakes up about 7 eats and then falls back asleep between 8:30-10. Eats about 10 and sleeps from about 11-12. East again at about 1 then he is up for about 2 hours eats again around 4 and usually stays up until he eats again around 7. He is usually fussy from around 5-9.

How old is he?? I've read that most babies have a fussy period in the evening. Maybe due to all the days activities?? Is he crying nonstop or easily calmed? My 6 1/2 week old daughter gets fussy too. It had gotten pretty bad with nonstop crying. I thought maybe she was ga__sy or having a problem with her formula. The doc had me switch her to soy a couple days ago so we'll see.

At that age, he should be sleeping more; try giving him another nap.

Well one of my main problems is that I can't put him down. He won't take a nap. As soon as I lay him down he wakes back up unless I sit and rock him or let him sleep on me which is impossible because I also have a 3 year old I can't just sit around all day letting him sleep on me. I don't know what to do he has been crying now for an hour. He isn't hungry because he just ate and he had 5 oz.

My baby doesn't like to nap in the crib. She will nap on a blanket on the living room floor, and every once in a while she'll open one eye, make sure she can still see one of us, and go back to sleep.

If he is fussy all day, it may be the formula. Babies usually develope colic around three weeks. ( if that's what it is) Colic is usually an evening thing from what I've read. I would call the pediatrician just so you can explain the situation. Or actually his 1 month appt. is soon right?? He may like to sleep on you because of the pressure it puts on his belly. Does he seem ga__sy?? Is he burping? My daughters fussiness started at about 10 days old.

Have you tried putting him to sleep in a swing or bounce chair? They work wonders!!!
