i was just wondering what makes a belly button an inny or an outy (sp?). my baby's umbilical cord fell off when she was about 10 days old and she's now 3 weeks and her belly button doesn't look like a regular inny. will it eventually become an inny or will she have an outy?

My daughters didnt really look like an inny or an outy once the stump fell off. She now (6 months old) has a perfect little inny. I am sure that it will become an outy. I am not sure what makes it an inny or outy.

I'm not sure if there is a certain factor that makes a belly b___ton an inny or an outy. Both of my boys have outies. Maybe it depends on if they have a little baby gut because my boys are both little chunkers. Who knows? :o)

I don't know what makes it an inny or an outy, but my older daughter's belly b___ton seemed to protrude a bit until she put some weight on. Another thing that can make a baby belly b___ton look strange is an umbilical hernia, which is common, requires no treatment, and goes away by the first birthday.
