Favortism On This Forum

Well, I moved on over here because I had my baby, AND because of all the childish c___p on the GP forum. I like it over here, it is a much nicer forum! I try to answer questions, but if I dont have a descent answer then I wont post. Or if someone has already posted what I was thinking, I wont post. I'm pretty sure nobody plays favorites, but there may always be a select few who would think so. I also think, that you may see people "chatting" about their babies, but that is just because lots of us have made friends on this site, and were are genuinely concerned or curious about how our acquaintences little ones are doing. Stick around and you will see that all of us are helpful, and it doesn't matter if you are well known, your questions will be answered. See? Even this thread warranted a response, and none of us know who you are! If you have a serious question or concern, post it, we can all see if we are able to help.

To Newcomer, looks like you got a lot of responses to your post this time... :) I have to admit, that I just don't have time to read all of the posts...so I respond to the ones that catch my eye. I wouldn't go as far as to say cliques don't exist anymore...because that's just a part of human nature...whether in high school or in a retirement home, different people gravitate towards different people. A lot of newcomers announce the fact that they are new to the board and introduce themselves...it goes both ways.

Hello, I agree with Jamie, your post is very pointed and snide. I also see the insinuations you are making with your comments. We all need to grow up and act like adults, not just those from GP, but also people who have been here for over a year. If we cant grow up, then the least we can do is act like parents. Which is something I know WE ALL have in common.

Hello! - November 16

I agree it was pretty pointed, but was any of it untrue? The GP forum is pretty calm right now too, maybe it's a coincidence.

okay - November 16

Then obviously you dont read the posts on GP, if you think that it is pretty calm! It is still a zoo, and there is still name calling and rude comments. But I think you will find it on most sites you will go to. So to answer your question, yes your post is untrue, to some extent. You automatically jump on the regulars. Just curious as to who you think the regulars are? If you ask me, anyone who posts frequently on this site is a regular. Including you "Hello!"

Heidi - November 16

Not necessarily true. I never really pay attention to the names. I only read the questions if the topic is something I can relate to or sometimes if I think it belongs in the 1st trimester forum, I just skip over it. Please ask whatever you want!!!

I came here to infant care about 4 months ago and it had been calm and fine until about 2 weeks ago. Maybe you should bump your threads...there are so many sometimes they get lost. I usually only read the first 15 or 20 threads because I just dont have time to read them all.

On some, if the question has been answered, then there is no need for me to say it again unless its not being understood. Also some topics may not apply to me as I may not have had that experience with my infant to give any advice. There are some sites that I notice people chat off topic because the've become close. It's nice to see familiar names that you've chatted some time ago. I've been on this forum since March 2005. I love this site because you can talk to moms from anywhere in this world. I thought it was just an American site until someone asked where are you from.

Tati - November 16

Now that I read most answers I would like to say that I am totally new and would love to have a friend. But like you all said it takes time to get to know people. I posted some questions the last couple days but not in the infant care category. All my questions were answered some had two replies and other had 40. So it all depends on the question. I don't reply to the things I have no clue about. But if it happened to me I will sure let you know. By the way I would like to introduce my self. I am tati had 2 girls 3 1/2 and 2 and due on Dec 25 (having a son).

Chelsey - November 16

Nice to meet you Tati! Christmas baby! Yay! I've got a 4 month old son, and a daughter who will be 4 at the end of December. (Just for a quick introduction!)

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 16

Welcome Tati, this forum is generally very positive and helpful, it is always nice to have new people to share experiences with. I think most people here would agree! I consider myself a regular because I come here everyday and post questions and answers, not because I belong to a clique.

I am sorry. I was not trying to start a fight by posting this, it was just my opinion. I do not know anything about the General Pregnancy forum considering I have never been on it. I found this site because I did a search about c-section recovery. It led me to the c-section part of this forum and then I saw Infant Care and checked it out. I understand where a lot of you are coming from but I still believe what I do. And to the people who said that cliques don't exist once out of H.S. is absolutely wrong. Cliques are something that we form, sometimes without even realizing it. It is usually the person who is in the middle of the clique that can not acknowledge that it is going on. I am not a "troll" as someone stated and I have to say that this is the first forum I have been on where people question the authenticity of a posting so much. What is the point of a forum if you do not think the postings are truthful? Well I will continue to fish through this site and if I feel the need to ask a question, I will. Let's see what will happen. BTW, My name is Charise and I have a almost 2 mo old daughter named Madison.

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 16

Hi Charise, and welcome. My name is Rachael and my son Lucas will be 3 months tomorrow, I live in the Cleveland Oh area. Would love to hear from you about baby topics!!

chelsey - November 16

Hi Charise! Glad you introduced yourself! I'm Hailey and Gabriel's mom! Absolutely, post away your questions if you have any..... you'll find that mostly everyone is very nice and helpful (if they can be).

Toya - November 16

Newcomer...or should I say Charise now. :) Well put! Welcome to the forum. My name is Latoya. I have a daughter named Asjani who is 6 months.

Agree with Newcomer - November 16

There is definite favoritism on this baord. I still read and reply if I can help but there are those ladies that must live their lives on these boards and form cliques. Hey, I have better things to do than to live here. I have met some helpful people in the past and chat with them offline instead. PS - The people on here defending themselves felt they needed to do so for a reason. Let's all grow up already....
