40 Weeks Today And Still Nothing

i am 40 weeks today and haven't had any pains, practice contractions or anything, is this normal and how can i speed things up? thanks in advance

Hi jenifer, Some women just don't notice those practice contractions. There is nothing abnormal as long as your baby is still moving and is o.k. My advice for speeding things up is some good hot nookie and a roof raising orgasm. That and walking. They should both help get the cervix dilated and may help to get things moving. There are plenty other ways that women use to induce labour but i wouldn't recommend any of them because they may not be safe for you or the baby ( like drinking castor oil). I have heard of one thing that midwives apparantly swear by.....it's red raspberry leaf tea (don't confuse with raspberry tea). It may or may not work but apparantly its at least good for toning the uterus and making labour a little bit easier. Hope this helps. Good luck .
