Hello. I'm new to this site and I thought I would give it a shot. Night before last I went to the bathroom and had blood with my bowel movement. I didn't strain or anything it was just there. Has this ever happedend to anyone? Any ideas on the cause? Thanks

anytime there is blood in the bm i would talk to your dr.. if it was bright red it could be hemmrohoids (sp) but i would definatley talk to dr asap.. not something to take lightly...

I'd say this is hemmrohoids... I've had this happen often, and even though my b___t isn't hanging out...I do get some blood at times. But of course, as boolie79 says, you might want to talk to the doctor.

I agree that it is most likely Hemorrhoids but if the blood is dark it could be from your stomach which is bad. I have been battling an ulcer for about 3 years now and I can tell you that you will likely have ALLOT of stomach pain and cramping if the blood is from your stomach and an ulcer. Anyway, Don't panic but do call your Dr for advice. I hope we were able to help you on your first visit to this site, and I hope to see you again on here =)

Well I talked to the Dr. and he said that it is the baby putting so much pressure down there that the little vessels pop. I've only had it once so hopefully it won't happen again. Thanks to all of you again.
