Does anyone know if it's possible to not lose your mucus plug until you're in labour?

When i went into labor with my son i didn't lose my mucus plug until i was in labor. I woke up at 4 am with pains that were 4 mins apart and that's when i lost my plug. Went to the hospital and he was born at 3:19 the same day.

Wow, thank you for letting me know. I only wish I had the same good luck! Was this your first baby? I'm on my third and honestly don't remember ever losing a mucus plug but for both labours, the doctor had to break my waters. I'm wondering if I'll be having much notice, ie. mucus plug.

he was my second. with my first i had to be induced so i didnt notice either

With my first 2 I lost my mucous plug about 1 day before I went into labor. With the last 2 I was definitely in labor when the plug came out. I had my bag broken by my doc with each one. So in other words, its never the same. Good luck to you.

I am on my third child and honestly did not notice any plug with my girst two children. With my first my water broke in the middle of the night with a huge gush and my second my water needed to be broke by the doctor twice because her head was so low it sealed off the first time. Maybe this is why I never noticed my plug with the first two.
