Forceps Birth

I gave birth 3 years ago but after 4 hours of second stage labour I was pushing very hard and the baby would not come out. The vontouse did not work, but the doctor eventually used forceps, and I was ripped and needed 12 st_tches. One nurse said that if I gave birth, I was likely to go through the same kind of birth again. Is this true and can it be life threatening? Grateful for any advice.

I don't really have any answers for you, but I thought it was really interesting...I just had my baby boy a week and a 1/2 ago, and I was also pushing for 4 hours and the dr finally resorted to the forceps, only he cut me instead of letting me rip..I was kind of wondering the same thing as you, will I need to give birth the same way again? Do you know why your baby wasn't coming out? Mine wouldn't come because he was facing up towards my abdomen, and in that position his head was hitting my pubic bone every time I pushed.

I'm not too sure why our baby would not come out, but we suspected after the event that I had a fall 6 months into the pregnany and had a lot of pain in my cortex bone even 1 year after the birth. the cortex bone open up during delivery, and I was wondering whether this function was affected as a result of the fall - have no idea, and no doctor has been able to answer this for me. When I went back 1 week later after the birth one of the nurses explained that I tore quite badly and would probably have a similar kind of birth next time. Do let me know if you find out any information. in the meantime, congratulations and I'm sure you'll enjoy all those special moments with your baby.
