How Far Effaced Do You Have To Be

37wks 3 days I just got back from my doctor. he say's the baby is in perfect position I'm 75% effaced and 1 cm dialated. I have to see a military doctor so they never really explain anything to me. Can anyone help me decode this??

basically effacing means the thinning out of the cervix! its measured in percentages from 0% to 100% and then dilatation is the amount that the cervix has opened. Its measured in centimeters from 0 to 10 centimeters
