Anyone had labor pains to start in your back? If so, how did it feel and did you finally get contractions in your stomach? I woke up this morning and my back has been killing me, nothing I do is comfortable. I am 38 weeks today, thinned, and 2 cm dilated as of Monday.

I had back labor. It got me all confused because I also thought that I'm supposed to feel it in my stomach, didn't want to call my doctor for hours. But the pain came and went, like contractions. The only time I felt anything in my stomach was when I was in the shower with the water on my back. It took away that pain and I felt very mild, period like cramps in my abdomen.

i had a few contractions in the tummy with mine but i went through 13 hours of extreem back labor. its hard to explain the feeling as everyone may feel it a little different. i have normaly had back problems so the labor/contractions in it where low, at the bottom of the tailbone. It was a constant pain and very uncomfortable but worsend through the contractions. if you are concerned go in to your doctor or hospital.

i am only 32 weeks and i have been having this bad pain in my lower back and tail bone. sometimes i can feel it on my hips and lower stomach too. i tried laying down with a heating pad all day and i can't get it to stop. let me know how things turn out. i am starting to get nervous

my baby was back to back so when i had a contraction i got back pain aswell

Well, I went to the doctor this morning. I'm still 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated. She is going to induce me on Dec. 22. At least we will have her home by Christmas!

To lisa_sc. I had back labour with my son. I woke up and started the day as normal but the pain just gradually worsened until I could no longer stand and was on my hands and knees trying to find a comfortable position. It was at this stage I went to hospital and was 5cm when I got there. I didnt feel anything other that the back pain up to that point. After a few hours of being in hospital I did start to feel contractions in my lower tummy also. It is difficult with a first baby to know exactly when and what is going on. I am 38 weeks with my second now and feel just as nervous and unsure as before. I have had lots of back pain throughout this one too so expecting it to follow the same pattern. Probably will be totally different now ive said that!
