I am dialated to 3 cm. and am almost 80% effaced. Doctor has done an internal and put their fingers around the cervix at my last check. Is it possible to still have the mucous plug or would it get dislodged because of the dilation? I have had stringy clear-yellowish mucousy discharge on and off so this might be it, but how could it be possible for the doctor to put their finger through the cervix if the mucous plug is in place? Thanks for any input you can give!!

I got checked a few times before I went into labor but I never lost my plug...put the yellowish discharge you are having sounds like it could be it.

Hey I started having that same thing happen to me after the doctor checked me. It was pink at first but now it's more yellowish!

I never thought about that but now I want to know too I am not positive if I lost my plug or not I had an extreme increase in discharge the first incident with it I had felt something come out and it was about the size of a dime and yellow. A few days later I literally had yellowish and whitish discharge dripping out like water would drip(it was not my water though) that happened twice and finally all stopped. I told my nurse and she said more than likely an infection, I told my doctor and he said more than likey I was losing my plug but I never got a certian answer. Last week I went to the doctor and I am 1cm dilated so I wonder the same thing by the way I'll be 37 weeks in 3 days.
