My sister in law just had her baby and the baby had water in his lungs and now is on a breathing thing I forgot what its called?? Well anyways does anyone knows what causes this she has 2 other kids and the same thing with them I'm pregnant and don't want my child to go through that. I'm very scared about it. Please someone respond thanks

that it's caused when they baby inhales birthing fluid... maybe? i don't think there is anything you can to to prevent it, but it's not a super common occurance.

My son had fluid in his lungs after he was born which nobody even knew. They finally figured it out when he wasn't eating right and he kept choking and coughing. They told me that he had fluid in his lungs b/c when he got squeezed through the birthing ca___l not all the fluid came out.
