How long after a water breaks till someone gets contractions? I've been told up to 24hrs.

Everyone woman is different.Some have contractions before water breaks, some get them immediately after water breaks or maybe not until hours after the water has broken.It just depends on that woman's body.With my first son, I was having contractions and my dr broke my water in hosp.,with my second son my water broke first and contractions did not start until maybe 6 or 7 hours later.Also your water can break way before you're due and under medical care you still may not get any contractions b/c it's too early for the baby to come.So no one body is the same.Good Luck.
