Hi All...
I am 36 weeks and for the last two or so weeks I have been getting a really strange pressure in my pelvic area that comes only when walking. It feels like a wave of pressure, or like everything inside me is letting go and though it sounds crazy it feels as though everything inside me is gonna drop right outta me. Sorry if this description is gross at all but it's the only way I can think of to describe it. Also when this sensation comes on it takes my breathe away I am forced to stop and "hold myself together" before carrying on, which is proving to be very difficult when picking my daughter up from school which is only about a 5 minute walk with my 3 year old doddling son trailing along!! It also feels as though I am about to pee myself. With my first two children I had c-sections which were booked about two weeks in advance so I had no labour and am completely oblivious to the sensations that come with it! Please can anyone offer any insight to what this feeling may be I would be most grateful!!! Thank you!!!

Sounds like the baby has dropped and is putting pressure on your pelvis - I get the same feelings all the time, especially when walking.

I have that same feeling, but it's more like a ripping feeling.

Your baby is being held by a rubber band thing....at least this is how my dr explained it. When it stretches it puts pressure on you. You will feel this until the baby comes.

It's completely normal, the baby is getting in position for delivery which means he/she has moved down and is resting in your pelvic area. You'll likely continue to feel this until it's time to give birth.

Thank you all for the replies....20 days to go till my booked section so I guess I'll just have to wait it out!! If my Dr. is not concerned I guess there is no reason for me to be!!!

This is my third pregnancy and this is the first time I have felt this weird pressure/sensation. I asked my doctor about it, but he said not to worry about it unless it was accompanied by contractions. It does feel strange and sometimes painful. Usually if I sit down for a minute and try to get up and walk again, it goes away. Some people think I have dropped, so maybe that is it. I'm 36 weeks and ready to go!
