I didn't, but I have heard it is possible. I would suggest going to the bathroom before labor, if possible. Ask your doctor about a enama or a laxitive (Make sure to ask first some can hurt the baby) But honestly I wouldn't worry about it. Everyone is really professional about it.

i remember asking my mom about this before i got pregnant & she laughed and told me not to worry about it that it doesnt really happen.
now that i am pregnant and worrying about labor i asked her again and she laughed and told me she only lied bc i shouldnt worry about that. lol
im not worried, its just a little embarra__sing and i dont really want family members to see that.

Yep it does. Your'e pushing, if poop's in there, it'll come out! :-) I didn't know I did but apparently I did a bit when giving birth to our first child (we have five and he was the only one I pooped with). I was mortified afterwards when DH told me, MONTHS later when talking to an old friend. I don't remember how it came up but he said, yes you did! The nurses just quickly took the pad underneath me away and got on with things - they've seen it all before, who cares? even though we do! :-) Really, it's nothing compared to holding your gorgeous baby. Don't worry about it otherwise it'll ruin your experience if it's on your mind :-)

Even if you do you won't even know and trust me you won't care! My DH says I didn't with our DD but to be honest I don't care even if I did I was pushing for 2 hours and just so relieved when she came out healthy and well! I'm sure the midwifes see it all the time too. I threw up a couple of times I know that much (too much gas and air!) but again I'm sure they see it all the time it's all normal during childbirth :-)

With my daughter I was induced, because I was 12 days overdue. The induction took 2 days,so I had already gone beforehand.I was proud of myself, nothing embarrasing happened.I had a mirror the whole time so I knew i didn't.But even if I had,That was not what my mind was on at the time.Trust me,you don't care what you do,or who sees you you just want it to be over.lol

HAHA! Ya know, it didnt happen to me, because when I first went into labor I had the urge to go "poop" on my own, and was in the bathroom 3 different times...before I even went to the hospital. But I have heard of that happening, and the nurses see that all the time, so it's not something you should be embara__sed about..I take it this is your first? You wont be embara__sed when you are about to push and give birth, TRUST ME, that will be the last thing on your mind.!! =))

If you've got a good doctor, they've seen it before and you've no need to worry. But in answer to your question, yes, it has been known to happen commonly.
