hello again everyone - still can't sleep! i really am getting fed up now! started eating fresh pineapple today - not really sure what its supposed to do but i'm willing to give anything a try. has anyone got any experience of eating fresh pineapple - does it work?

Hi charity, its great that there is someone else on here due at practically the same time as me! This is my first baby and I have been going to my midwife every week now for the last couple of weeks - last friday she said the babys head was engaged which i am presuming is a good thing?? I take my hat off to you working right up to your due date. I unfortunately got made redundant in august and have since not been able to find employment - nobody wants to employ someone for a couple of months - but if i had been in work there is no way i could of worked til my due date im just so tired and find simple things a huge task! but i suppose it heps to keep your mind occupied doesn't it?? I'm going out of mine waiting for my baby to come just stuck at home all day everyday!

I had my baby Monday!!!!!!!!!! 7lbs 15 oz. boy. Ethan!!!! Thank goodness its over. Any day now for you, Jesse!!!!! I know the waiting sucks. I thought it was never going to happen either.

CONGRATS impatientMamma!!!! lol im being induced tuesday the 13th...im going in for a stress test on friday..if the baby is stressed they are going to induce me earlier....omg i can't wait!!! my friend had her baby last thursday lol its really weird cuz my bf is mexican and im white and her husband is white and shes mexican...they had a boy and we are having a girl...total opposites...lol my bf's brother thinks they are going to grow up and get married lol that would be kinda cool lol ugh..she said her epidural didn't work...did you get one?? how was it??? oh man i CANT WAIT!!! ahhh i just want her out..:( its not fair...*pouts* im so jelous lol good luck with your baby!!

Congratulations to impatientMamma! Finally the waiting is over for you, I hope you can give us the details so at least we know what to expect. (Although everybody has different experiences.) I had my doctor's appointment today, and I had a non-stress test. She said I'm 100% effaced and 3 cm dilated, but since the contractions are very weak and far apart I'm still not having this baby soon. My due date is supposed to be this Saturday, but if I still do not deliver anytime, I will be induced on the 19th! (It sucks to wait until that time!!!) She also stripped my membrane around the cervix just for my prostaglandins to be released and have the contractions going. She just put her fingers inside when she was examining me and did a circular motion of some sort -- and that's stripping the membrane. Didn't even feel a thing. I though it was something invasive. I asked her if it will help to try that castor oil, but she said it won't do a thing for me. (I don't know how she knows?!?) But tomorrow I'll be eating fresh pineapples (read it somewhere that it helps to soften the cervix by releasing prostaglandins, so I'll try that). My husband is not up to helping me by having s_x (frustrating, but undestandable -- I'm not that enticing any more!) So I just have to wait, and let nature take its course... sad but true. Ladies, hang in there, just as I am....

hi everyone, well yesterday i tried a long walk, fresh pineapple, a hot bath and s_x in several positions and within an hour of having s_x i was having contractions every 10 mins - this went on for about 2 hours then my bf started to panic (as men do in a situation) and was ringing the hospital and getting the suitcase that has been packed for weeks out of the wardrobe ready to go if we needed to but then it all stopped at 4am this morning no more contractions! I can't believe it but i will be trying it all again 2nite!

Just got back from the midwife and she said the babys head is fully engaged and the contractions ive been getting are great because they are preparing the cervix for labour so i'm just gonna keep doing what ive been doing and i'm having a curry 2nite aswell - fingers crossed - i'll keep you all posted

Hey, Jessie, how are you, haven't heard from you for a while. Hoping you're in the hospital delivering that baby of yours. Today is my due date. I started pa__sing my mucus plus since last night and more is still coming this AM since I woke up. I am not having contractions though (sigh!), and if I do not deliver anytime soon, I will be induced on the 19th. The mucus plug was really like mucus or more like a phlegm consistency, very thick, white in color and you won't miss it when it comes out. It is also a lot. I thought I have been pa__sing it since last week, but after what I saw last night and this morning, I realized what I was just pa__sing then were just regular discharge. I'm planning to walk more this afternoon. Good luck to you too, Sarah!

Hi joycee, r u still suffering with us or are you a proud new mum - let me know. i'm due on christmas eve and my midwife said she will let me go 10 days over so i could be looking at january and another 4 weeks i'm going insane waiting. my bump has dropped so much i have to let it fall between my legs when i sit down surely this has got to be a sign that it can't be long now??

Inpaitientmamma congrats. Thanks Sarah i like working but then when it comes to weekends it seems i just sit around and wait. Last week my Doc could not feel the baby's head and was talking about inducing me in Jan too, but I told him no because my insurance will make me pay 2 deductibles plus the baby is a nice right off when is comes to taxes. He said he will induce me on the 29th. You might want to try that on your doc and see what they say. with your sleeping problem have you tried sleeping on the couch with your back against the back part. it helps me alot. Does anyone else get like a whole bunch of contractions one day and then the next have one or two. that drives me nuts.

Hi Charity, thanks for the tips on sleeping - i might try that 2nite cos i just know i won't sleep again! I'm at the midwife again on friday if i've not had him by then i'm gonna go in there and make a fuss, crying and moaning and beg her to induce me!! haha

Hi all. I'm still very pregnant right now, 2 days overdue. It sucks but I have made it this far, so I'm still holding on. I really can't believe I'll be reaching this far. Coz with my first pregnancy, I was 10 days earlier. To answer Charity's question, last Sunday -- I thought was D day. I woke up with these severe pains from my back to my front down to my v____a, not like the braxton hicks I was experiencing. The contractions were irregular but pretty strong. I waited for it to be regular but then after the whole day of waiting it stopped. I didn't bother going to the hospital because I didn't want to be sent home AGAIN for the second time. I want it to be the real thing when I go there. I'm hoping to have this baby this week, instead of being induced by Monday. I'm sick and tired of people asking when the baby is coming out, altough they are concerned, but the questioning drives me nuts. If they can't wait for the baby to come, how much more do they think I feel, huh?!? This Wednesday, I'm again scheduled for NST, I'm hoping that by then, I'll have contractions even every 5 minutes, and be at least 4 cm dilated, so my doctor could send me to the hospital. I just wonder, what is wrong with all our babies, they seem so comfortable inside that they don't want to come out. Is it the cold weather that keeps them from coming soon?
