im 38 weeks pregnant, and my doctor told me if i carry full term my baby would be around 8 1/2lbs..i dont wanna have to push out a bigger baby then that
plus i dont really want to go over my due date
i was just curious if you can request to be induced??

I dont think you can i think they decide weather or not but I would still ask them and tell them what you just said.

Ashley - Nice name lol, but yes you can always discuss it with your doctor, I told my doc at 36wks that I was getting worried that he was going to be too big, and she said she starts inducing at 39wks for large babies (they have to wait that long for full lung development) So then 2 days ago when I was 38wks and went in for my check up I told her that I was way too big for comfort and I dont want to have a c-section and again that I was really concerned with the size of the baby, so she sent me over to have a ultrasound done and told me that depending on the size of the baby then she would induce me next week (39wks) so I had my ultrasound done and sure enough my son is already over 8lbs, mind you my first son was only 8lbs 1.1oz and he did a number on my botton area from being soo big, so as soon as my doc was told how big he was already she had me schedule my induction for next week and told me to go home and try self induction if I wanted, they are a__suming he will gain another pound in the next week and I will most likely have a 9lb baby so I know exactly how you feel. I would just talk to you doc about it and make sure he/she knows how concerned you are with the size. Good luck!
